I did bins for about 9 months. Our round included a well known cut through for traffic. We always did it later in the day, but still got complaints. So we started doing it first thing in the morning. They were not impressed and we couldn’t give a shit

AGE 57 , 30 yrs hgv/ lgv exp driving . DID bins late 90s SITA svez . SOUTH GLOUSTER . politically correct / crap now do gooder ,CAUSE problem . we cant take this that thats in wroung bin . IT is what causes frustration / anger never had it 1998-/2000 black bins only used common sense help people . public car drivers got v sign often horns just gave the crap back simples

Now if you don't take a bin because it's mixed and not separated they come out and abuse you. It's not the binmen fault or recycling lads fault. If they were to sort through people contaminated boxes they would never get finished within there hours. And overtime don't get paid. Idiots start filming now trying to get a reaction so they can send it to the council and try get you sacked or looking for some compensation. Sad people really. It's like you aren't even human. They look down there noses. Glad I work in construction but I have a few pals who work on the bins and it's got so bad lately especially with covid19. Every one is going nutty

I'm a binman here in Northern Ireland and on one of many dangerous occasions I was waiting on the footpath for the bin lorry to come to me for me to empty it and this car mounted the foot path to get passed the bin lorry I seen him at the very last second so I got stuck between the car and a gate post and he missed me by inches

I can understand that people will be upset when they pay for rubbish collections and the then get less for thier money then what they had before but for fuck sake why attack the bin men on the street? They don't set the rules. Contact the companies and complain. As to racial abuses, I bet you British pepole aren't exactly queuing up to work the bins.

I always put the bins out for recycling and the landfill I also put some the neighbours bins out to make it easier for the bin people will also give them a Christmas box at Christmas they are a good crew on the bins if you get the regular ones get to know and have a little chat with him

***** i have set a timer/reminder on my phone for the night before they come to take the rubish so its out at 10 pm ready for them in the morning and i put correct waste in the bins and i havent had any stickers put on the bins but its all sorted now i jumped in there wagan and took the keys out of it until they walked back and took the bin or i was gna drop the keys down the drain and yes they did threaten me with police but that dnt scare me and its less hastle and stress being in jail

Why don`t you just put the bin out the night before , in most areas refuse collectors start at 6AM,then you won`t have to get out of bed as i presume you work nights/late evenings.
