I sat in with the band on drums, at what was at the time, The Sierra Club, and we played Gimme Three Steps, in 1986. Many visits to El Gringos on Rizal Ave, for delicious Mexican food, and to Grande Island and a few to Baguio City. Songs I remember hearing the most were di-bale na lang - Gary Valenciano., Holiday by Madonna., and State of the Nation, by Industry. Bought the Australian Band The Church’s Heydey cassette because the cover art looked cool, browsing on Magsaysay St. and [ I have been a fan of the band ever since. ] Most repeated thing heard on the street was “Buy Something”. Powered by JBL, friendly people, San Miguel Beer and Beautiful Girls 👍😎.

Love this song but I wish there were lyrics available online! ❤Here are my rough estimates: Move away and set me free Your love pushed me to misery Can't stand your touch no more I'm leaving you, that's for sure You're on the top/you're all the talk of city life [?] But still you work from 9 to 5 All this talk makes me insane My life with you was an endless pain So! Stop your crying, it makes no sense (Stop your crying) You've wasted your very last chance Stop your crying, it makes no sense (Stop your crying) You've wasted your very last chance Give you a romance [?] Five minute sex and the sound of TV While I dream of [?] My love kept draining but you made me stay Yes it's true I found someone new But it's not the reason why I'm leaving you Lover's rock was never your fare [?] You're sycophantic, so hard to bear Work work was the only thing you knew I'll never know why I even looked at you Move away and set me free I want to get out of your misery So! Stop your crying, it makes no sense (Stop your crying) You've wasted your very last chance Stop your crying, it makes no sense (Stop your crying) You've wasted your very last chance Give you a romance [?] Five minute sex and the sound of TV While I dream of [?] My love kept draining 'cause you made me stay Stop your crying No, no no no no no

I always thought that no band represents the SOUND OF SARAH RECORDS better then Brighter. It's so genre-defining... Saw them once live in 1991 in London, and they were as you would expect it. Standing quiet & shy on the stage, looking down, playing their songs. That's it. So simple, so beautiful.

It's very edifying that this great song, which obviously slipped through the cracks (i.e it should have been a hit) will achieve some small amount of immortality by being the "chosen one" for the rousing and colorful opening montage of Ham on Rye. With lyrics that touch quite well on the themes of the film, it's a wonder that the song fits so perfectly TWENTY FIVE years after its initial release in 1993 - the heyday of ebullient indie pop. Sadly, even the film itself might have already slipped through the cracks of the movieverse. Still, I believe the art gods favor both the movie, Ham on Rye, and the soundtrack (filled with fantastic choices) for cult worship in the future.

I don’t think this band was capable of writing a bad song, from Bern Switzerland, wonder if it was hard to tour get gigs, for them. They were the first Riot Grrrl band, if the definition is no men allowed, unless you count the Runaways that were dominated by male management. Not putting the Runaway’s down, they did what they had to do to be taken seriously, and broke serious ground. Chin-Chin kept it indie too and borrow equally from Motown girl groups and dirty-instrumented 70’s punk.

@@SujiroKimimame_Piru noise punk? name one band? there is a thing called "noise-rock" but it is very different. this is pop-punk or indie with a hint of c86 or power-pop with a hint of 60's girl groups. nothing to with noise or dissonance.

i guess early jesus and mary chain and stuff like that could be labeled as noise pop. this band? nope
