Thanks! Great vid! My house was built in 89 and still had the original Kinetico Model 30 with the Kinetico Aerator. I had a tech come out about 8 years ago to check on its performance and to make sure all the settings were correct. He did not want to do an exhaustive test and test the water ti make sure the salt content was correct. He just said it was fine, but wanted to sell me a new unit. I think back then it was somewhere between CAN$2,500 and $3,000. I said no thanks. Fast forward to Jan 2025. I had the system in “bypass” mode since the summer and only now got around to dealing with a bad installation. The floor had started to rot out due to years on condensation from the aerator tank. The system was also located right next to electrical breaker platelets. Relocated it further away from the panel, cleaned up all the plumbing, and now need to clean the head from sediment that accumulated because I didn’t change the pre-filter often enough. Hoping it works when cleaned and reassemble, but probably need new resin beads. It’s nice to see a desler being honest and willing to refurbish an older unit bs trying to cash in on the sale of a new unit.

As I suspected about the designer having some background in watch making or at peast micro machines! I just picked up a K60 from a Craigslist ad. This thing is from 1992 and its still kicking! All i had to do was rebuild the head with new gaskets (not cheap, yikes!) but once that was done, its now servicing my home! What a gem!

Hi Paul, I cannot get my local dealer to answer a question on the sulpher guard system, and I have searched many videos and you site. I had a pin hole leak develop in the plastic hose that connects the peroxide tank to the filter tanks. I called for service and after three weeks the service man showed up and replaced the hose. Well great! However the system was using about a quart or so when it went through its process, after the hose change it has been using 5-6 quarts every cycle! From the videos I see the timer is the same as the softener so is this likely to be a timer/valve problem?

So the unit is only effective for 4-10 years before the media needs replaced? Can you clarify?

My 2060f filters put water into the 4" reservoir tank. Is it supposed to? How do the filters get the peroxide out of the reservoir back thru the filters in the cleaning process? I just dont understand how it works??

one question I have is how safe is the salt system for home with septic tank?

I’m about to get a Kinetico system installed, but I can’t find much information on which of these two systems is better. Is one system consider better or more efficient than the other. I like the compactness of the 4040 but I was told the 2060 has higher capacity. Kinetico 2060sOD 12x52 Dechlorinator Kinetico 4040SOD My household includes two adults and 2 toddlers. The salt and bring is visible, salt and water level is good, but the regeneration process does not shut off. Could it be the value?

My issue is the timer works, checked the timer. The regeneration process does not stop! It generates for hours, 7 plus

I see 2 elbows on the valve body. One with that clear suction line and the other with that red (discharge?) line. Without the lines connected, is there a way to identify which is which since they look the same?
