I bought 2 calves today at auction and probably overpaid by 20/hundred. I'm ok with that if it got me the animals I was looking for. The barn is 80miles from me. So, to make another trip would be expensive and cost me hours. Mileage and time are components of my cost.. At least, in my mind. Great info. What about sticker placement. Is that something to watch for? What about old, on not so old, glue spots? What does that say? I'm NEW to this and need help. Also, your thoughts about finding a small operation broker?

Many don't fully understand the price paid for freedom. What angers me, is that we keep sending our young men to fight. Not to fight for our country , but for (Profits of those that dwells in the DC swamp. Our leaders don't even have the courage to tell the Americans the truth. Our current President said we don't have our men in Ukraine, but the fact is that we do. The government had to start paying the combat pay. We deserve better. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Every great empire throughout history as it was failing took their people to war. Today I saw some news that our country is now trying now to negotiate with the Yemen rebels because our military strikes haven't had any effect on their operation in the Red Sea. Our military has become so weak we can't handle these rebels. So our government is picking fights with countries like Russia and China. Even after being told by the military leaders that we could not win against either of these countries. Not to even mention that these two countries have a military security agreement and would join in together against us. Even if NATO joins in we would lose (Quickly). Sad to say, our countries government is being ran by fools. We really need to have a voters revolution. Hope you have a great weekend, and may God bless you and yours. ~ Rich

Paul Harvey's voice brings back such memories of a simpler life as a child that I didn't appreciate as simple and good. We are a tired, worn-down, and confused people and it was orchestrated on purpose by our own government. It is difficult to comprehend why our own national leaders want to destroy the greatness of America. Instead of treating America like the young jewel she is and working to build on her already firm foundation of God, values, work ethic, and family - they want those things gone from our lives. Your background music was perfect for the topic Rich. You mentioned things "going on" with you. I sincerely hope whatever those things are, that you are winning that battle.

I loved your comment, so very true. Also so very sad. Often I think of my kids and grand kids. Then search inside myself and wonder could I have done more to make a change in the direction this nation is taking. Then I worry about the kind of country I have left them. Paul Harvey was correct in saying, "That when America Falls. It will be an inside job". It was so good hearing from you. May God bless you and yours. ~ Rich

@@TennesseeHomestead While we live our lives working hard, taking care of our responsibilities, and still trying to find moments of joy; there is a global force using vast resources of strategy, patience, and evil, to destroy us. I don't know how we could have seen it coming or changed the course. You have a broader scope of experience in these matters and maybe you see a solution I don't. A revolution will be a slaughter. At this point perhaps it is more about how to prepare our lives for hardship, protect what we can, get far away from the cities, and STILL find those moments of joy (otherwise the gift of life is wasted). Humans are resilient, your children and grandchildren will find a way.

Karin, the one thing about Paul Harvey, he seemed to a man that had a wisdom that reminds us that we have to change the direction of the so called leadership. For us that understand what America was, must standup and say enough to this insanity coming out of Washington DC and the collages today. We have children, and young adults thinking that CO2 is going to destroy the planet, or that China and Russia are evil killers. We are told these things, because our government wants the people to live in fear, because fearful people are easy to control. It's time we peacefully make this government fearful of the American people. Only then will things like our education system will get back to educating our children, instead of indoctrinating them. Good old common sense and respect for our country and it's laws and it's people, can put us back on track. Good to hear from you, I hope your doing well. My God bless you and yours. ~ Rich

shouldn't this read "first steps to take during an American Winter power blackout"? because in other countries you really don't see much in the way of "blackouts" as they have mainly underground electrical cables. and while there are some overhead power lines, these are normally backbone cables with multiple paths. So any "Blackout" only lasts around 30 mins max, the only "Blackouts" that last more than a day usually involve 3 feet of water and the place is flooded.

Well, The Channel is Tennessee Homestead, Kind of says the information is from America. 🤒 To tell you the truth many countries have above ground powerlines, and many parts of the US does also. Still good advice for the most part because you can still get power surges from something like work on a substation.

@@TennesseeHomestead America does seem to have a lot of "you should really worry about.." mind you, with low regulations and standards, and contractors that win contracts to build things being the ones with the lowest bid. I guess I can understand why. and no, we don't get a lot of power surges either, the power grid is monitored here nationally and while there is some variance, it is within tolerance of what the line voltage should be. I have UPS's for my computers and they monitor the line conditions and it is rare that the power goes more than -/+ 5V of what it should be and even then, it is less than 10V. power outages are about 1 every 2 to 3 years, the longest I have known in almost 50 years is around an hour.
@TennesseeHomestead

Well, with having 50 States, each with their own building codes. Plus each county has it's codes, and the same for each town it can be a bit crazy. I worked in Las Vegas, NV. for about 15 years as an engineer and all work there had to be tested by a third party testing company. To the extent that all dampers & valves on HVAC equipment had to be tested to the standards that if the controls system called for a 13% open, the damper had to adjust to 13%. All electrical utilities were underground from sub stations to buildings for all commercial and residential installations. The company I worked for dealt with mainly the resorts along the strip and downtown areas. The a few older buildings had overhead still, but if any major remodeling is done, they are required to upgrade their service. We did have a train derailment that took out three transmission line towers from the Hoover dam to Vegas, but you would not have noticed it, because most all commercial buildings have backup power generation. The house we owned back then had it's own whole house generator, with many other home in Vegas running on solar power. I the 15 years I lived there we had only 1 power outage for a day or so. In America the rural areas are not as lucky. Many rural area don't even have street lights, or signal lights, just stop signs.😀 Most of us like it that way.

Pretty cool...i knew all of these (being from up north and from a wood burning for heating family) except for the Yew Tree...never knew of them...seemed like i've seen those trees up north but because they were carnivorous-pine needle they weren't cut or burned. We've been known to put a few of those old 4x4 pressure treated logs (where most of the copper sulfides and chemicals leached out over the years) into the enclosed franklin stove...but we only burned one or two chopped up 8' footers every few years when lamp posts broke and we put them in when the fire was good and hot....Dad told us it wasn't a good idea unless the fire was hot but we'd burn them for heat.
