Hi, I am wondering if anybody has a solution to my problem, I have created a HMI for a touchscreen device, I want the sensors/motors/all modules to show their description when in run mode, without having to manually copy and paste within the tag of the object. With a normal computer screen senario this would not be a problem but since it is touchscreen the user cannot hover over the icons to see the description, tag box is also limited to certain no of characters, but my descriptions are slightly longer. Any advice would be appreciated.

Please change the title , it's not an OPC connection , because here Excel is initiating a DDE conversation with RSLinx , unfortunatly this type of connection is so old not reliable , slow in case of large systems (conversations are updatind clients data one by one for each connection initiation ) not like OPC Asych . well the title should be "Real-time Data Logging Using RSLinx DDE and Excel"

How would you go about aliasing the individual parameters of a UDT? everytime I try an add an alias to the tag in the routine window the data type gets converted back to bool and I don't see an option to add an alias in the properties when viewing the UDT in the tag window

Hoping someone has an answer to my question. I am using version 32 and whenever I am in run mode the option to specify an alias for a tag is unavailable. I haven't had any issues with the differences in versions up until this point, is there something I need to do so that this option becomes available? thanks in advance.
