Is it kinda good at room volume or does it need to be cranked...i hear Friedman has the best master volume around...my DSL 20 has to be loud to be enjoyed..
@AlexZilinskiАй бұрын
hi Martin. the master vol is good. the amp is voiced to sound good down low. but our ears think everything sounds better loud so take that into account.. hard to say if it will be satisfying for you played low. but it does sound very good ! i played a lot loaded down + an IR through my studio monitors. sounds better to me that way than to play it quiet through a real guitar cab ! 🙂

Great tribute guys ! I enjoyed it. If I could name just one band that should be remembered from this epoche in time, it would be Led Zeppeling. That band that colored my musical youth even more then other greats like Queen or Pink Floyd. Led Zeppelin was a band that didn't had just one style and thats what make them so interesting. Next to the fact that they had one of the best singers, one of the best guitarplayers, on of the best keyboard players and the best drummer of all times. Since I've been loving you is one of there best songs and the one with the strongest bluesy feeling with some taste of soul, rock and even Gospel in it. And also one of their bests live performances that was recorded back in 1973. I think you did a great job, putting in your own musical texture without loosing the very soul of it.

Man those are some killer tones! I play at home and need lower volume, but I love this over-driven "British" / modded marshall tone. I have a kemper which is very cool in general and particularly good for sounding great at low volume, but I I feel the urge to get a smaller tube amp like this. My concern is that I will not be able to get tones at lower volumes. I mean like bedroom / TV type volumes. I live in a house but have a family and I tend to play late at night, so I cant crank the volume. Do you think an amp like this is even worth it for my purposes? I know people recommend attenuators but I have never used them . Thanks!
@AlexZilinski5 ай бұрын
Hi. Thanks for the comment ! I would not get an attenuator. Those are only useful on non master volume amps. In my humble opinion.. The taper of the volume pot comes on quickly. Little tricky to dial in the exact low volume you want. But if you use a little simple passive volume pedal or volume box in the loop it’s easy to dial in and also not expensive. Bedroom. That’s tricky. Depends on the cabinet I guess. It sounds good even low but our ears hear different at low volumes. You would have to add bass and treble. But I’m sure you know that already. I guess I would get the Tube head and get a suhr reactive load with IRs ( or the two notes captor) and play through studio monitors. Not cheap tho…. Or stick with the kemper…. Hope this helps!
@slashtrio5 ай бұрын
@@AlexZilinski thanks for your detailed reply! Yea, I spent a good amount of money on the kemper (used so a bit cheaper) and I got the kemper 1x12 cab and I have a little Yamaha desk amp that has a flat mode which basically serves as studio monitors for the kemper. So I do get really great tones with those options, maybe I just have GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) ha.
@AlexZilinski5 ай бұрын
Gotcha! Yea GAS is a pain. I guess I would stay with the kemper then ! 😊
@slashtrio5 ай бұрын
@@AlexZilinski yea, to clarify I wasn’t going to get rid of the kemper, I think it’s a keeper, but just craving a little tube amp too!
@slashtrio5 ай бұрын
@@AlexZilinski oh, yea check this out. This is the kemper going through the Yamaha THR10 desk amp. This is like speaking / low bedroom volume. So it does this quite well. Keep in mind this is just phone audio. But, when I hear that aggressive Marshall tone you have, that super raw and growling tone makes me want more ha kzbin.info/www/bejne/iIDNgZl3rJ1lhtEsi=reAk_RI2LbCOkhM9

Great video, brother! Something I learned, that I try and share is hooking this amp (and any other Marshall-esq circuit) up to a HotMod (especially the V2 EVO, o LynchMod). I own this amp and the Little Sister, and what it does to the gain is nothing short of spectacular. It doesn't add any (these amps don't need it), but it tightens it up, and gives it a glorious mid-focused, percussive punch. You've got this dialed in really well, already, that spectacular little device would launch this amp into the stratosphere. Well done....and perfect playing for this style of amp. 👍

Let me just say this is the best take I've ever heard of this song. Incredibly tight groove all the way through, the guitarist nails JP's style on a tele and threw in his own style, while not taking anything away from it. The singing was just absolutely spot on. To me SIBLY is the absolute essence of the blues, so if you can capture that essence, like what was done right here, you've got SIBLY too. Amazing
