The relationship between Matt and Tim is fantastic. They spent so much time together whilst working on White Collar that they know what each other is thinking and spontaneously break into song and they sound so good together, it’s a pity they never duetted on the show because I never knew, until now, that Tim also has a great voice! I haven’t seen Tim in anything other than White Collar whereas Matt has starred in many other great productions and portrayed fantastic roles such as Felix in The Normal Heart, Ken in Magic Mike, Sean in Papi Chulo, Jamie in The Sinner and, my all time favourite, Frieda in Anything, and so on. I’ve seen hardly anything promoting Anything but I think it’s one of the very best films I’ve ever seen, where Matt plays the part of a transgender woman with such sensitivity, compassion and tenderness and makes a very plausible and stunningly attractive woman who spends time sharing her loneliness with Early Landry, played by John Carroll Lynch. I know Matt playing the part of a transgender woman attracted criticism as many thought the role should have been played by an authentic transgender woman, but Matt portrayed it in such a wonderful way and he brought so much to the part I feel he was absolutely the very best person for the role and demonstrates what an incredibly multi-talented actor he is. I hope they will eventually make another season of White Collar set in Paris but until then I look forward to watching Echoes when it is released later this year. I have found some of the things Matt has starred in very harrowing to watch, I.e. The Normal Heart and The Sinner are two examples and although I’ve watched White Collar multiple times, I still bawl at the end, even though I know it all turns out good, which again displays the talent of Matt’s acting ability and leaves scope for a continuation of the show down a different path so I just hope the powers that be see fit to do another season as all the cast are eager to do one, although I guess it will be very difficult to replace Willie Garson as Mozzie unless perhaps a substitute like Alejandro Patino could fill the role as he has great comedic acting skills. If the new season took place in Paris rather than New York, replacing June, played by Diahann Carroll wouldn’t be difficult as her life was in New York.
