Yes. Drive and 3 are the same. You don't have to pull all of the way back to first every time.

It was garbage. It was only in the car a short amount of time. Ended up putting the carb back on. It refused to run right, constantly bogged on tip in.

tony polony they aren't my gauges I just recognize them. From what I remember they offer a mechanical gauge and an electric gauge. The electric gauge doesn't have built in gps

Sounded like it came to a very rapid stop. At those revs, I hope it was a 170, I'd certainly never want to be close to a 225 spinning that fast, the piston velocity mid stroke would match an F1 engine - at 5000rpm on a 225, the piston moves as fast as a 440 at 7000rpm, because the Slant has a longer stroke! :)

I rev my 245k mile 225 to 4500 pretty much every day. I've been doing that for a year or so now. Headers and 4 barrel EFI let it rev like the 1 barrel and iron manifolds couldn't.

Did you modify your shifter at all? On mine and others I have see you have to squeeze the lever for the 2-3 shift.

Dutch Winters its because this one he has is for a reverse pattern PRN123 but still works for PRN321.

Yes he technically has the wrong shifter for his application. He could essentially over shift to 3rd on a 1-2 shift. This is a reverse pattern shifter

No. This is not a reverse manual valve body. Reverse manual is when 1st gear is where drive used to be and you pull the shifter back for 2nd and 3rd. Opposite of factory D 2 1. That's so you Never throw it in to neutral and reverse.

Hol Pass did you do anything to this shifter to get it to work this way? I just got one and you have to pull the trigger to go from 2 to D and same going back down to 2. Also once in drive you can go into N without pull the trigger, no neutral lockout

@christianmeyer6731 I'm wondering the same as you. He never answered. I make custom detent plates for many factory shifters and 2 aftermarket shifters that function the same as the shifter in the video, except my design has a positive stop at 2nd and at 3rd. You just slap it twice. I haven't converted a Hurst to my True Slap design yet, but I can.
