I like to look at the green bar at the top of the screen and the red bar at the bottom of the video and imagine it being Mario and Luigi racing to the finish line.

i LOVE keishi yonao, especially his work on Mad Stalker and the Cyberphonic albums, but man i dont know if he was a good fit for Asuka 120%! don't get me wrong, the tracks are bumping, but yonao's music, at least to my ears, has a really dark and brooding sound, giving off a mood perfect for themes of isolation, technological advancements in a society that's decaying or a particular type of a post-apocalyptic setting. it's very much a pastiche of cyberpunk, and so it feels a bit weird to have these thrumming basslines and rising tension for a game about highschool girls knocking the seven bells out of each other. it's probably my preconceived notions and settings from which i got exposed to his works that color my opinion, but it doesn't make it any less jarring haha thanks for the upload!!!

This style of VG music is the reason why Orchestrated VG music never did it for me. That and licensed band music that isn't original to the product. This gives a soundtrack its identity!

It’s just insane to think that he came up with this in a couple minutes and while sight reading on his first go. I downloaded the sheet music and am practicing it now and all I can say is damn. Some of those chords really stretch out your fingers 😂

I used to listen to this song on my game boy for so long. It’s a very short song made to fit on a small game, but there’s so much depth to it. Tom Brier was able extract that depth. I always love the ripping triplets that he puts inbetween bars on two occasions. A masterpiece.
