Very interesting. I'd like to visit there sometime. I'm told Stevenson wrote Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde in bed. The bedroom was upstairs at the back of the house facing the trees.

I thought this would be silly but it's actually very good. It speaks to us who have fallen through the cracks of the world and never found real happiness.

My mate Mason lived in Bargoed for a year when he was on the run from the police in Christchurch. They found him eventually and the mayoress of Bargoed banned him from the whole town.

I had a very haunted house in Caerphilly when I was growing up. Its a horrible experience and its effects have stayed with the whole family to this day. Ive been seeking closure ever since because it makes you feel insane.

Hi - We're doing an episode on poltergeists and would love to include your story as an case study for Gwent. Before I go ahead I just wanted to confirm that you're happy for us to discuss your experiences? Everything that has happened is absolutely fascinating, especially that fact that you've recorded your memories and those of your family in so much detail.

I'm absolutely delighted to hear from you. Yes, you may discuss this but I don't think I'm up to an interview. Best wishes from Andrew

He had me in the office for not wearing a cap, also out of school hours. Some idiot had just stolen my cap, and I was chasing the thief out of a backlane when Ceri sails past in his Wolseley Hornet. That was back about 1969. Didn't know Ceri was a JP. I once had the misfortune to visit his Ystrad Mynach bungalow. He managed to be a bit more welcoming that time, but I seemed to remember that he asked why I wasnt doing homework. Which given that his own kids were watching tv at the time, was a bit of a cheek. My oldest sister had a bit of a run in with him when she was in the 6th form, which ended up with my mother confronting Ceri in his office. So you can imaging how I feel, because that was him just getting his own back, on me. Punk! But here is some info for you, that might be informative. Ceri was deemed unfit to go into the army circa WW2, so they made him a Bevan boy, working down the pits. That would explain his pockmarked skin and vindictive nature. He also taught German. He probably spoke German quite well, so I wonder if he was an occupation time translator after the war. Ceri probably thought he was too intellectual for the pits. People delude themselves all the time!

@@thecelticdruid7707He was obviously driven to make his school the equivalent of Lewis Boys Pengam and Lewis Girls Ystrad Mynach. I suppose that was commendable, and I suppose he probably did the same for Heolddu. Standards at the Grammar were quite high.

Growing up this hits hard as we realize not everyone gets the happy ending , sometimes the hero loses. Lessons well learned.

In a way this song always ran true throughout the series, the only true way for Banner to be free was if he died. That was the tragedy of his life, and was never portrayed as accurately as in the TV series.

Spent one year as foreign language assistant at the Polytechnic in the late 1980s, but lived in Pontypridd! The market was wonderful and especially one of the fishladies was a gem!❤ Does the school for the deaf still exist? It was always so interesting to watch them talk. My love goes to Wales, and especially to Pontypridd!
