Last season I had the wind knocked out of me, smashed my spine off a chairlift bar, wrecked full speed into a snow coverd tree and don't think you're taking safety seriously enough🙁

Shorts, knee and back protectors are the bare minimum. I fell off a 1 meter drop on a icy slope and hurt vertebrae - missed 2 weeks of the planned holiday and a large hospital bill. It could have been much worse. Saw a lot of people breaking arms and collarbones on the first day on the slopes

Hi, did you ride the Evil Twin of similar size by any chance? If yes, could you please compare it outside of the park like on sidehits and on groomers? Thanks
@GeniaBy7 күн бұрын
So to go slower, do i have to push the stick at the front? Or is it levers / handles in the sides? Also what if i go slow and amb behind will go fast and crash into me?

Any idea how this board does on ice? (East coast native, Jay peak vt is were I ride) we get like 50/50 between powder days and slush and ice, how would this board do? I only ride groomers to get to the trees and side hits?
@GabagoolFool26 күн бұрын
Thinking about getting this board for park, but i live on the east coast, alot of ice. I really like this board but because of the 3bt in ice im not too sure if i should go with a standard board

That other board you referring to is the Marhar LJX? Why do you opt for the cambered LJX over the LJ? How do you compare the pros of the LJX to the Whatever?

I have the same D30 pants and still manage to fracture my coxis. IMO not the best design because your tail bone can't take a full body weight impact and a small D30 pad on the tail only pushes it in more. It needs padding on the sides (cheeks) so the tail so is tucked in.

Thanks for the info. Will stick with the burton crash pants then

Hey Mitch. I loved the video and it was incredibly useful for what to expect since I just got this board during the off season. Side not: I'm getting ready to launch my own snowboarding vlog channel later this year so if you're ever in Denver and want someone to ride and film with. Feel free to shoot me a message

Wrist guards will not stop your wrist from breaking. My wife was wearing some really solid ones and still broke her wrist on a cat track traverse.

Hi, I would like to purchase this board. What bindings do you recommend?
@JeremyLynnes5 ай бұрын
If you're learning this all makes sense (albeit a little expensive). Especially the butt pads. Wristguards are the one thing I'd keep using regardless of skill level (and a helmet of course) While years of boarding have trained me not to put my hands out, you never know. Not to say you're not going to fall or get injured even if you're an experienced boarder but the additional weight and the decrease in mobility killed the whole armor thing for me when riding (especially kneepads and chest protectors). At some point you'll be good enough that you're not falling all the time and you're not sitting in snow that you can 'grow out' of most of the armor. Just my 2 cents after 35+ years of riding snowboards in Tahoe.

Definitely get wrist guards as a minimum. Broke my wrist first time trying snowboarding. The pain isn’t the problem, don’t really worry about that. It’s the medical costs from the surgery that was painful, and the inconvenience of working one handed for awhile.

Thank you for sharing your shoe repair tip! I love it!

There is this thing called a resole.
@johannessporer6 ай бұрын
I hope this is a late april fool video, otherwise this is the biggest bs I've seen in a while. You can let your shoes resole for around 40$ before they are worn completly through and get a new life out of your shoe without compromising performance. Amd when you actuakly want to climb with slippery glue tips then don't waste 200$ for Solutions anyway ;)
@richardlee541218 күн бұрын
where do you normally resole climbing shoes
@PankakeFFS6 ай бұрын
At this point just wear sneakers as you aren't getting any benefit from wearing climbing shoes with no climbing rubber making contact with the footholds. Also if you don't climb outside and are mainly jumping about on big footholds, $200 shoes are pretty useless, just grab some madrocks or entry-level evolvs.
@quanny46906 ай бұрын
For gym climbing yeah I'd also say those solutions are cooked and overkill for indoor big volume comp style climbing

Is it grippy standing on the edge with glued part ? Because I tried it with shoegoo (forming it with ice cube), but it was not grippy at all, in fact - very slippery like hard plastic.
@MountainMitchYT6 ай бұрын
If I run my hand across my glue seal, it FEELS like it has more friction than the rubber. But maybe that’s just because there’s chalk sticking to it? In terms of being on the wall, I can’t tell the difference, I mean I smear tiny foot chips with these, but who honestly knows, maybe I’d be better if I had actual rubber under me. It’s certainly something I will test in the future, but that would result in me buying new shoes to test them lol. This is the exact reason why I put “kinda” in the title, because idk how other people are gonna like this, I just like it for myself, and wanted to share my experience. The bottom line is a full bottle of glue costs $9 and gives me a bunch of uses so I don’t get too mad at it.

Demon gear is badass at whatever they make . I didn’t even know gloves with wrist protectors was a thing.
@MountainMitchYT7 ай бұрын
I’d say the two most important pieces of armor are: 1. Wrist guards as they are snowboarder’s most common injury. Put them underneath oversized gloves, or spend the extra money on built in wrist guard gloves. 2. A high quality butt pad. Demon gear is great (NOT SPONSORED). Spend at least $40 on a butt pad. I also always wear a Demon armor top but it’s low priority. ALL of this is just personal preference and what works for me. One thing I can say for sure: DON’T BUY A TURTLE 🐢 😂 and at the very least try throwing on a helmet 🙏

Lmao why is everyone such snowflakes now a days. Getting hurt and eating shit is part of your progression and is how you learn not to get hurt lol. That’s what makes it so rewarding sometimes getting hurt or rocked on a trick and then getting the courage to do it again and land it. Fucking snowflakes.
