I'm split between this and the Alpaka metro. Heart says this but importing the Thirteen will cost me 2x of its price 😢
@outenthelightsКүн бұрын
Damn that’s pricey! The Metro is a nice bag too so I don’t think you’ll be disappointed, however, I just love the shape and the beefy straps on the Able Carry bags so I get why your heart is going with that! Tough decision!

Looks very nice. I have gone for less structure after experimenting with a modified bullet journal. Usually I try for not too expensive notepad with decent paper which handles fountain pen ink. I have a small collection of pens and mostly use it for notes and work planning.
@outenthelights14 күн бұрын
That’s awesome! What notepads and pens do you use?
@sng222514 күн бұрын
@outenthelights I have a Visconti Opera, Parker Duofold. Mainly I use my Lamy 2000 or Pilot Vanishing Point at work since they aren't screw caps so are quicker to deploy. I just use some cheap journals from Supermarket. But Rhodia, Clairfontaine would be my preference. For cheaper paper it's best to use fine nibs to avoid feathering, bleeding. Show through isn't a big deal for me. I just prefer fountain pens, except for air travel.

Nice! I’m going to have to check all of these out! New to the stationary and pen world but excited to jump in!

i think it would be cool if they included a "basic" light with none of the smart features. i think the pricing of the smart light is fair and on par with a lot of smart and high end options, but i imagine it's disappointing to pay 200 dollars for a bag and not be able to use the light slot functionality at all. a basic rechargeable red led bar would do.
@outenthelights20 күн бұрын
Totally agree! All of the add ons are a little disappointing especially for a premium priced bag. It’s definitely a bag for cyclists but purchasing it and then not having the features made for cycling is weird.

Do you prefer the Savant or the Panda Pack more? I own and like the Savant, but itching to pick up the Panda as well for weekend trips. Thoughts?
@outenthelights22 күн бұрын
All three of the Pioneer backpacks are so good. The Duration is great too! The main pocket in that one has more depth than the Savant. The Panda feels a lot bigger than either of those. I don’t think you’ll regret picking up the Panda too. I honestly use all three bags quite a bit! Duration is my go to weekender.
@j0404t22 күн бұрын
@@outenthelights You're killing me LOL, ain't no way i'm getting all 3 bags. Do you think the Panda would be a good option for a personal item bag to keep under the plane seat?
@outenthelights22 күн бұрын
Haha I didn’t mean you needed all three! I just meant depending on how much you bring, the Duration works well for weekend trips too. Panda fit under the seat on a southwest flight for me.

I think I prefer my Aer Go Pack 2. For a day pack, I use the front stash pocket often - a place to put outer layers of clothes when the weather/temperature changes. It also has a luggage pass-thru. I like some of Tortuga designs, but their products seem to go in and out of production pretty quickly - makes me nervous on how well they could service warranty repairs/replacements.
@outenthelights22 күн бұрын
Yeah I think they’re both great options! The Tortuga feels more like a standard backpack than just a packable one - super nice materials! Tortuga does have a lifetime warranty!

Caution. This bag empty is soaking up a lot of weight. 7kg limit outside of the usa makes it impossible for me to spend this much weight on just the bag.

1.5 kg without the waist strap! After the bag was packed it came in at around 6.35 kg! So yeah a little tight!

@anneinauckland2318Ай бұрын
@@jeffone the Patagonia Black Hole 32 litre is a similar weight to the Dragonfly. It doesn’t open clamshell style, but that’s fine for me because I use packing cubes and the bag holds a lot and is very comfortable to wear. Yeah, the 7kg limit can be tough.

I just bought this backpack. I plan to use it for my trip to Europe. I am going to bring an extra pair of shoes, puffer & rain jacket, but will try to survive on 5 pairs of socks and underwear; 4 t shirts, 1 button down, extra pair of pants, hoody, tech gear, laptop, and tablet. I believe I can fit it all in if I use compression cubes which I see you did not use. Regardless, great video! It really gave me an idea of what I might be able to pack. Thanks!

I have several of the AER products but this is my favorite. Have City Pack Pro, City Sling and Day Pack. This gets the most use by far. It's great as a travel daypack. Sized right for a day on the town, light and never gets in the way, and keeps a jacket, water, snacks on hand. Comfort is higher than I expected for a lightweight backpack. Love the front pocket where I put an umbrella or rain jacket, or hoody with quick access. The right number of pockets, all of them get used. I hate backpacks which have too many dividers and pockets which actually cut down the space. Whether at an amusement park, exploring the city or just heading to the park, this will be my goto everyday backpack. I just picked up a second one for my wife to use (in a different color). I love the black one but the grey one will stay cooler in the sun.
