Thanks for hanging out on the channel and for the comment. No doubt the SG/LP style necks are a problem when dropped, etc. I don't know the history of this guitar. But I suspect it fell or possible someone stepped on it. Maybe we can fix it. Time will tell. Rock on!

If the fret board isn't cracked and the Truss Rod is still intact and not bent, fill that split with wood glue, clamp it down for a few days and you should be back in business! Interesting project!

The goop on the tuner is caused by the plastic "outgassing." Which is the release of trapped gas within the plastic often created in the manufacture and processing of the plastic materials. The neck is cracked at the scarf joint, so it should be an easy fix with Titebond II and some clamps. The mystery pot is a killswitch/tone pot.

I've been talking to a neighbor about a cracked neck on an acoustic I have. He's repaired a few of his own. From what he's told me, as long as the break is clean, and you won't damage more wood when clamping it, then lots of wood glue, and 2-3 clamps for 48 hours, should do it. Mine is more of a crack, with nowhere for the glue to flow into the break. I look forward to seeing what you decide to do! Cheers 🎸😎

Glue the crap out of it and clamp it really really good for 1 day. It will never break in the same spot again. It's definitely fixable and probably play even better because the weak spot is now is solid. Clamp it to a table and glue it. It only costs 5$

A healthy dose of some good quality wood glue that fills the gap and then clamp it back together, making sure it meets up without leaving any trace of the break. I wish I had that here to try the fix. As for the "sticky" stuff, vinegar mixed with some hot water. Dip a non scratch sponge and work away, wiping away the excess water as you go. Elbow grease not included!

I saw at least a couple of comments on the previous video that said they thought this damage might have been caused by the boring out of the body holes for the neck joint screws. I think I might agree with them. I have never heard of this before on a guitar from the factory, much less seen it done as a mod to a guitar. It probably wouldn't be more labor intensive for a manufacturer to do it this way if it was better. Can you please make a video explaining your reasoning as to why this is a better joint? (Diggin' the mini leg-lamp!)

It's done so there is no chance of a gap in neck pocket from wood screws engaging at different points. It's done all the time on furniture. And most guitar companies aren't going to spend any more time than necessary on a product that costs them money. And how it ever came to be called a bolt on neck is beyond me it sure looks screwed on to me.

The wax wouldn’t be the problem. But the rubber seal didn’t help. I’d buy a new neckplate. But I’d repair those cracks. Get some wax paste apply where you don’t want the glue to touch. Use some fine super glue, so this can flow easily into the cracks and damage. Do this in several stages let it dry re-apply more glue. Take your time. Drilling your body holes bigger isn’t always a good thing. If your not a guy that’s good at doing repairs Take to a good repairer get him to fill screw holes in body with dowels re-drill and repair cracks. Best wishes Kimball

I don't know what the difference is but I just received a Fojill FTL-30 Tele style guitar for 89.00 dollars and I can't believe how well it played right out of the box. All it needs is some decent pickups and a good set of strings and it's suitable to gig with if you don't mind everyone knowing you're playing a cheap knockoff telecaster. The action was very low with no string buzz and the intonation was as good as I've ever seen with a three barrel bridge. I bought the Strat style first and it was good but this Tele is excellent.

Thanks for the comment, hanging out of the channel, and for sharing part of your journey. The Fojill line has some interested naming conventions. The one I received was (is) listed as the "FTL-20 FTL-30" so I always referred to it as the "FTL-20" it is listed today for $79 and worth every penny (in terms of being good bones). I have also had the FTL-60. I found both guitars to be upgradable to decent guitars (I have playlists for both). It helps not to care too much what others think. You do you! Rock that Fojill and more than anything have fun.
