The wagons where already 50 years+ at the time where my layout is set, so they both look and are old fashioned. But the models are very nice and not as delicate as they appear :-)

That engine almost looks to be of American origin, especially when compared to other 4-6-2 types that where built & operated in North America.
@SundborgModelRailway2 ай бұрын
That is very well spotted! These locos were originally built in Sweden just prior to WW I and the designers were clearly influenced by both contemporary European and American locos. The Pacific-style and the semi-vanderbilt designed tender are both evidently US-inspired.

Hello there, Thank you for sharing your video. So now i have learned this car is for cheese transport, and most of the other white danish cars are for meat transport. Is there a also a car from DEKAS for Milk transport, or which DSB Car can i use for Milk transport. Have a nice Easter weekend Meickel
@SundborgModelRailway4 ай бұрын
That is a great question. Yes, there were white DSB cars specialised for milk transport. They were easily recognisable with the word "MÆLKEVOGN" (milk car) written in larger blue letters on the side. There were only 25 class IVM in DSB´s inventory and the were manly used to transport raw milk from the country side to dairies in Copenhagen. They were phased out in the early 1950s and converted into normal white cars. Unfortunately, no exact models exists of these cars, but you can find pictures of the prototypes here: www.jernbanen.dk/dsb_gvognfotos.php?Aar=1941&litra=IVM&typenr=

@SundborgModelRailway4 ай бұрын
Glad you liked the video. The VW nomenclature is confusing. Here in the 1950s, which is the era I am modeling, the factory designation was Type 2 as it followed - and was initially derived from - Volkswagen's first model, the Type 1 (Beetle). Later, the T1, T2, T3 etc. was added to differentiate the different generations. In that context you are right: it’s a T1. But it is also a Type 2 🚐

At serviceniveauet var højere og lønningerne lavere i 1950’erne er der vist ingen tvivl om. Måske er det også en lidt vanskelig kunde de har med at gøre. Dækker Tæppebussen også Kælderkøbing eller er der ingen udbringning? 😃

I wondered why there was no audio--because you're Danish and English is not you primary language. I went to your web page and everything was in Danish and I couldn't read any of it. I wanted more details on the lumber shed you built. So I kinda copied what I saw you do; I just don't know if my dimensions were correct. I've got the two hand cars from Tichy Train Group and will have to get the little building to go with them. I haven't built them yet; they're still in the package under my workbench. Cheers from eastern TN

Yes, Danish is my mother tongue and I have so far chosen not to speak or indeed show my face on the channel. I am however, considering if adding voiceover to my videos would make them more interesting to watch. What do you think? And good luck with the Tichy Train hand cars - they were a fun build.
@w.rustylane56505 ай бұрын
Nice board & batten idea. I'm gonna have to give that a try. I always learn something by watching other modelers. Looks like you need to stain the interior wood work if it's gonna be that visible. Oh, I see you marked the boards with a pencil instead of painting the interior. Great idea. I was wondering how tall you made the structure so I guess 12 scale feet tall & seeing you marking off the interior, you made it 4 1/2 cm to include the top rail. I guessed right. I'll have to guess the length and the width looks to be about two sections. Just don't know how high the top of the roof is but I'll just guess looking at the pitch you used. Looks to be about 2 cm taller than front and back walls. The tractor and forklift work well into the scene. I've got an old Diamond T flatbed truck I'll incorporate into the scene as well. I've been wanting to scratch build a lumber warehouse. Cheers from eastern TN
@SundborgModelRailway5 ай бұрын
Thank you, glad you liked this rather simpel build. A Diamond T truck sounds like an awfully big truck - at least it would be for my small Danish sawmill, but perhaps you are modelling an American sawmill? Then things cannot get big enough :-D
