I personally met and spoke with Jon Hassel in 1986. An exquisite and magical person, a unique and unparalleled musician. Here in the Blue period, he reached heights of inner peace, almost unattainable. Music of the highest spheres. Musical institution I consider Jon one of the my inspiring Masters.Thank you Jon.Felix Maritano

We listened to this exact Mantra every morning in rehab in 2009. It stuck with with me for the last 15 years I've stayed sober. Im so glad I found this exact version, it feels like home.

Perfect song to read the subjective forms of the clouds and to follow with a tender eye the grooves of the stems of the trees; appreciate the complex writing of the nested branches, taste the colors of the decomposition of light into water droplets in a garden, and strongly feel the wet soil of ancestral forest to perceive the traces of animals from deep past

I had always been a lover of classical music, so when I heard this for the first time in 1975, it gave me a fresh insight in to how it could be interpreted. Well done Tomita, you may have gone but your way of doing the classics will live on in the memory for many years to come. I hope something will be done next year to celebrate its 50th year.
