Great video. People claim i have paredolia because i see animals and faces on rocks. They claim itt is the same thing as seeing shapes in clouds. However the shapes i find are not at all random. There is a formula to it. Check out portable rock art and expand your mind.

Great to see stuff n Fuchs. I was fortunate enough to study under Bob Venosa who learned from Fuchs. Also I know a local Thai artist(I live in Thailand) who also studied under Fuchs and has his own gallery of Visionary work. I am also friends with Martina, Venosa’s widow. She is a master artist and her work should be seen.

This is so fascinating. I had no idea that there was so much research on the beautiful illustrations from these artists. Art is so incredibly useful for people with mental illness to be able to convey what is inside their minds that isn't able to be vocalized.

I think what you do is very interesting and I appreciate the content of your videos a lot. But you should try not to read a text…be natural, talk spontaneously based on what you know. If you talk while reading a text, your talk loses originality, grip on the listener. We need to feel your engagement, your knowledge, you need to transport us in your know how. If you read it becomes monotonous and it sounds like a monologue. You can do that. 🙏🏼☺️

The thing I like about Outsider Art is that there aren't any specific rules to it. It is like the punk music movement of the 1970s, they didn't have to be master musicians, but just get on the stage and perform, if it worked then it worked. All that is needed for Outsider Art is to create, nothing more, if it works then it works regardless of the skill of the artist. I even find it liberating to hear something like "my five year old can do that," which means anyone can do it provided they have the will to do so. I even believe Outsider Art will save us from the restrains that so-called A.I. art imposes on us. It's originality and color in a manner not found in regular will enhance and save us from artificial and mechanical styles.
@spark300c7 ай бұрын
yes and no. artificial and mechanical styles is reflection of tools used. in 1980s a lot out sider art was lo fi because of tech. alot of my music quantized to hell. though my early vocaloid songs would fall under outsider art because I did not know much music theory. now with modern tech you have AI vocal synths which different form AI art generators which are not tools.

It's a shame most people into Jung are isolated from each other. (Or maybe that's a good thing? Haha.) Just found your channel btw.

Do you think most people into Jumg are isolated from each other? I think it is a bit niche, but it is definitely growing in popularity!

@@thecreativejung You know, I'm not sure. We know perception is often reality. So in my case.. I work as a teacher in a small American mountain town where anything past a certain limit is considered rude or condescending among most guys in my area. (and makes me weird to most women) So, at the very least, it's me who's rather isolated. lol (It doesn't help I can't do sarcasm very well.) I'm glad to hear Jung is growing in popularity. I know the TV show, "Northern Exposure," was all about it. One of my favorites! Going back to the point, I love the video! Most people don't seem to realize the heuristic ties into a lot of things.

I've enjoyed doing art my entire life . After many years I noticed a pattern in my sleep habits. As I first begin to fall asleep I go into a hypnogogic state . It's involuntary but is an endless supply images and ideas . No verbal simulation like a dream . From there I either go into a rem state or fall asleep . Is creativity a totally autonomous function ? Or does it impose itself ?
@mikebarrington93222 жыл бұрын
I paint but I've had people ask me if I do folk art or modern art or even primitive art . I don't think it matters I try many different things and have for a long time . I do however feel that " outsider art " does have some distinct aspects that appear less often in other forms people might associate with outsider art . simply put the outsider artist might often not know ( or care ) about the merest aspects of art from influence to academic concepts . Remember even grandma Moses was inspired to reinterpret the prints of Currier and Ives in her earliest works .

Thank you so so much for the work you do/have done putting these videos out. I have watched them as they popped up related to specific searches on KZbin, and loved them, but since they were suggested to me because of a specific topic I was searching for, I moved on to the next video in my queue. But I finally saved one in my bookmarks to remind me to come back to your channel - so today I decided to watch them as I would read any scholarly work, beginning with the first video and working my way through in order of their release. This is where I am in the videos right now, obviously. I am just so grateful that you made this work, and I want everyone I know to watch these too. As for myself, I'm going to order in and stay put here on the sofa, having a wonderful evening with your content. thanks again.

Hmm idk, if individuation and finding treasure hard to attain are one and the same. But either ways, there is a certain threshold that needs to be reached and successfully crossed, 99.9999% of the people will never get there. It involves facing evil and malevolence, experiencing what it does to you, how it destroys you and then not letting it turn you angry and resentful but instead getting to the root of evil and malevolence and understanding it for the line between good and evil passes through the hearts of every individual. That's how you overcome yourself and save yourself. I call it the trial of destiny and it takes a bit of a luck and a bit of a miracle and a whole lot of reading and researching psychology and Philosophy and then going with your intuition and making mistakes, learning about logical fallacies etc to overcome to ego and become pure. And even then your journey is not complete, not even then you know more than 99.999% of people ever will.. it only gets much more trickier and in your newly found freedom you find yourself more restrained than ever. You've experienced the light..now its time to experiencing and understand the darkness.

Freud basically became frustrated with Jung when he wouldn't listen to him. Freud was considerably older than Jung as well...Long story short - Jung surpassed Freuds limitations and he (Freud) felt threatened by the the depth of Jung.

This is a wonderful topic. I've explored a few outsider-art museums and was surprised and impressed many years ago by the Baltimore OA museum (in the harbor area, for those who might visit). What struck me as well was the respect and investment shown to the establishment and "curating" of pieces, if that classical term fits. Lisa, would it be possible to slow down the narration just a tad? Thanks for this work. Are you writing a thesis or just enjoying a studious life?

I saw a documentary on outsider art a while back . Some people complained about the designation " outsider art "being too narrow others griped that it was too broad . Ironically one husband and wife who as gallery owners specialized in buying and selling outsider art complained that people tried to pass off " fakes " on them , whatever that may be .

@@jaxshroom I suppose Jung could have been aware of akasha, seeing as he was familiar with Helena Blavatsky's writing. He was interested in spiritualism and the occult so that probably influenced him in some way.
