@Seastheday88 It depends on the weather. Usually 12-24 hrs. The batch I just finished was started at 8pm. Done to my liking at 2pm . 18hrs. I use a fan only. Marinated tuna goes on rack and placed in a controlled (no bugs, dogs, kids) room on flat surface with an office fan on medium speed placed 1-2ft away. Start checking for desired dryness at about 12hrs. Very simple to start or stop the process. PS. I sprinkle with sesame seeds when the tuna is wet. It is stuck to it when dry. Sort of a garnish. Makes it look better.

@Seastheday88 There is no spoilage. The sugar and salt(soy) "cure" the fish. I have shared this process with many people and about 50% are unwilling to attempt because they are sure it will rot while drying. It doesn't. I do refrigerate after complete. True dried beef jerky does not need refrigeration but I feel due to the higher moisture content. This should be in the fridge for storage. It is so tasty it does not last long. So long term(more than a month) storage has never been an issue.

Thanks for watching. The battle of the baitcasters part 3 breaks it down fairly well. Even though the Tranx500 is an old design, it does have double dogs vs single on the Lexa500. The main pluses on Lexa500 is the lower profile design, I find it easier for myself to cast and the stainless steel gears. Other than those two positives, I’d personally go for a Tranx500 if bigger species are on the radar.

I love the zoom-in on the reel when you were getting bit! Nice touch! When you hook these fish on light line (25 lb) it's important to keep your thumb off of the spool and not clamp the line down on the rod. If they want to run, you have to let them. You have to rely on your drag, and with a star drag (vs 2-speed) you can usually get away with one or 2 clicks higher when they're straight up and down. The ones you got were nice! I went 10 for 14 out at Cortez a couple weeks ago. On 25 lb and small hooks there were some long fights. Luckily our last afternoon they were biting 40 and we finished up boat limits and left them biting!

Hey bro! Love the videos! I am looking for some advice.. I am a SoCal fisher like yourself and am looking to get a baitcaster mainly for surface irons, colt snipers, topwaters etc. I am between a Shimano Tranx, Daiwa Lexa and the Prorex. I'll be spooling with 65lb braid and using a 8'2 rod.. Which of the three would you recommend? I have been eyeing the Prorex most as of recent.

Thanks for that! For most line cap, the 500 sizes will be it. The Tranx 500 is a bit more refined with double dog. I still have both and go for Tranx for heavier and would use the Lexa 500 if it’s smaller school size. Hope that helps

lol. I have the 300. It’s my beater and somehow it still take a beating. Have to admit I’m tempted on a 400 for the price, just too much tackle at the moment
