Hmmm yeah with the current USD > AUD exchange rate...... didn't realise this is an add-on, extra $50/month (that's AUD$75+) ..... would love it but I think there are other tools half the price that my team need more right now (and so I think we can stick to our current time tracking arrangements). It's a shame because this looks like a great feature. Will wait and see

Just some feedback, I like your videos, but the red border makes me really dizzy, I could only imagine how bad someone with actual disorders might get. Please remove the border and make videos more accessible!

Please tell me this is part of BaseCamp and not a paid upgrade? If so, it's starting to feel like you are nickle and diming your clients.

Pretty steep for a fairly basic feature at $50 a month as an add-on, even if you only have 1 user

I work solo, and yes, it's too expensive here in the DR. I'll stick to Hey Time Tracking.

$50/month for a single feature add-on is way, way too expensive! This would be useful for us but would increase our monthly payment by half again as much as we currently pay. I sure hope this isn’t a sign of things to come with Basecamp where new features are locked behind add-on price increases. This is inconsistent with the SaaS promise Basecamp has been making for more than 15+ years. We’ve been here for all of it. No likey. 🫤👎

Agreed, as it is I'll still need a separate app to actually track my time.

I’ve been working in observability lately. Many of the people in my extended social circle who ask me about my job are people who have gotten their hands dirty working on cars. I just tell them that I make the equivalent of ODBII readers for computers. 😂

Debian: I am sure that other people might be asking the same or something similar most of the stuff I heard look similar to Debian with Gnome as default. Is this correct or am I missing something?

Interesting video, but I wonder why using Ubuntu of all Distros? For this video there is no necessary right distro, so I assume it's because Ubuntu is the biggest Distro of Linux?

This is brilliant and elegant and efficient environment to work. I am graduating from my WSL setup and maybe even ditching windows hopefully so I installed Arch with hyprland because I didn't want to have a vanilla Ubuntu but all the extra effort is becoming too much for me, it took me a solid week to fix every issue and I still have some glitches here and there but with Omakub it took me about two hours and it was close to my ideal setup plus is using Ubuntu which is more standard for my ML work and more familiar to me so I am going to hop between my arch setup and this the only disadvantage from omakub is the second monitor can't switch workspaces and stays only on space 1 while in hyperland I can have about 20 spaces between two monitors but so far this setup is very convinient effective and clean 😊

Hearing this at work: "its still in the scaffolds" from guys that have never held a screwdriver. I guess they need to add the "work terms" to make themselves feel like they do something that matters.

After watching DHH being so passionate in the adoption of GNU/Linux, and doing a wonderful job with his special sauce for Ubuntu, and now this accurate representation of how we in the trenches see bad PMs, I’m starting to believe that 37signals might be a good place to work if working for a corpo is your thing.

Kudo to them for releasing a product and making the code - what license though - BSD from the looks of it ???. It would be interesting to see a Ruby on Rails standalone "simple" self hosted product.
