Hey, I was wondering, have you tried making a deck with Oglor, Devoted Assistant? I've been trying a self-mill angle with Gaea's Blessing and Snarling Gorehound but the deck feels too slow for Historic. Even with Insidious Roots it feels like it lacks a good pay-off

I've used it in Dredgeless Dredge decks. But that deck is already complete and Oglor isn't particularly important.

You can try it with the popular Historic mill and dredge cards in Dimir. You can try it with Balustrade Spy and MDFC land combo. You can try it with wheels and cards like Midnight Clock that can shuffle GYs into the deck You can try it in an Azorius Tempo shell that uses cards like Abhorrent Oculus, Helping Hand, and Picklock Prankster. You can consider mass reanimation like Raise the Past and Rally the Ancestors The Sultai Roots you mention is a deck that is better suited for Standard, since you mention Roots and Gorehound.

@@johndoe9343 Really nice suggestions, will definitely look into them. I have a full playset of Oglor so I'd love to find something to play him. Certainly gonna take inspiration from your ideas. As for Roots, yeah, I feel like it's an unfortunately slow card. I'd have loved to give it a try in the Alchemy format but it has already rotated out :(

@@CMierez Oh yea, how could I forget, there's also the Izzet and Grixis Phoenix shells. Oglor might be more impactful in some matches where Phoenix can't cross the finish line.

Why don't you use devetasting mastery instead of the cleansing nova?its alternate cost is cheaper and they still lose if they return the nine life to its owner's hand

He would lose versatility: Cleansing Nova can be a finisher or a way to get out of bad situations if you don't have both Solemnity and 9 Lives up and running. Mastery doesn't give you options, and if you have 9 lives stuck on your side of the field, it is practically useless.

@@MrBreakmindyeah but before nine life came down the mastery is still the same for cheaper.you know what? Maybe just play both nova and mastery and forgo the green cards entirely(the alchemy green search card is gimmicky anyway) and keep the deck 2 color boros🎉🎉

I will start playing rank when the new series comes out. I can come across a lot of interesting decks in normal games, except for Minion of the Mighty.
