Get this, I've stood 15 feet from a sasquatch deep in the Canadian wilderness. The eyes were a luminous yellow color, pure soul fire! Years later, a sasquatch taught me to acquaint myself with the inner realms of liquid light that permeates all existence. Meditate often. Visualize breathing white light to facilitate healing or cultivate a deeper connection to a person you put in focus. Stay strong. Shine. You are loved ❤️

That is just awesome. Thank you so much for sharing those precious experiences you had and the wisdom you gleaned from those ancient elders. Taking it all in and will do as you say. Thank you. Stay strong as well. Shine. You are loved. 💗

The only problem is learning to love ourselves. When this truly happens at the deepest level, all other problems naturally resolve.

Self Esteem for gay men involves severe competition to see who is the most muscular, youngest, richest, and with the biggest endowment. There are very few long term relationships because gay men have a hard time staying monogamous so there is not point in even bothering because it will only end in pain. When you reach 40 you are over the hill and might as well buy a dog and move to the suburbs to live out the rest of your life alone. Gay society revolves around club culture, showing off and searching for the next conquest. Gay people are their own worst enemy due to ongoing hatred and condemnation by society at large which has been internalized. Life for gay people is searching for the next thrill because there is no example or expectation of a stable life. Discovering that you are gay is not a joyous thing. It is sad especially for those that have been around for awhile and know what those coming out have to look forward to.
@RoyGrant Жыл бұрын
I hear your pain and your points are valid. But there are gay men out there who have depth and self-awareness, and who share the same core values as you, such as monogamy and commitment. I have been running The Thoughtful Gay Man meetup support and discussion group for 7 years in Milwaukee and Chicago and have met countless others feeling how you feel and looking for deeper connection and meaning with other gay men. Sometimes we have to put ourselves in the right venue to find each other. The bars and the apps are not conducive to this which our culture so often promotes. You can find your tribe, you can find your partner, you can live without comparison and criticism. Good, heart-centered gay men exist. And while all social groups/cultures have their wounds and weaknesses, I still find gratitude for being able to live the gay male experience and be a part of a political/social/and most importantly, spiritual movement related to the higher growth and empathy of the world to which we contribute just by being queer. You are not alone. Thank you for your care in expressing your thoughts. I know many can relate.

« Something put you here, and thus you have a special purpose… you are already living your purpose… you can trust the process… all you need to do is be, and listen. » This is a reminder that helps me, that my purpose doesn’t lie in achieving some status or action in the future, but that I’m already fulfilling my purpose on this earth. I am fulfilling my purpose by being alive and not resisting or fighting the situations life throws at me. That I am enough, I am doing enough. Grazie

This was so on point. I grew up in a homophobic culture and ended up thinking I was some kind of monster. It's taken years to develop some kind of positive self image. But now that it's happening, I feel like a new person.

This is all well and good but as a 300lb 46 yo no way I'm getting laid without a lot of drugs and/or cash. That's reality. However I'm not bitter, I wouldn't want to bang me either.
@RoyGrant5 жыл бұрын
I hear you. We all have things we don't like about ourselves. But even if we can tip the scales of appreciating where we are at by 1%, it can create a ripple effect on the quality of our lives. It all starts with self-love. Until we believe we are deserving of good in the now, we will continue to sabotage it or come up with reasons why we don't deserve it. It takes looking yourself in the eye and seeing past your body, acknowledging the being that lies within, peering back at you that craves love. I challenge you to watch what happens when you offer that being the love it craves. The ability to get laid does not indicate one's worth, nor does sex even promise to be fulfilling, especially if not based on genuine mutual appreciation. Therefore the focus should be on joy, and when the focus shifts from what you lack to what you have, you emit an invitation for even more good and healthy relationships to enter your life.
