is it safe to can seeded grapes? if so, will it change the flavor?

I only have one watermelon this year :(. It’s hanging, so no yellow spot. Can you smell the sweetness of the watermelon if it's ripe before you cut into it? The tendril on mine is brown, no white cast but it's not really shiny. But the watermelon doesn't smell like anything. Is that normal? Is it ripe?

If they fall out of the nest they cannot fly back up from the ground, I put heavy gloves on and set them on something tall enough that they can drop over the edge to give room for their wings to flap. Does that make sense? Love my bats!

Obviously frozen peas can fill in a lot of spaces as you fill the jars and some nutrition you may need later on. I also like mushrooms, good thought. Never do anything but can when you are canning. The pressure change when the jar broke is likely where you lost your liquid.

Thankyou for this! My late mother was a child during the war, she often spoke of the limitations on their food. You ate what you were given - no complaints! The thing is though, she said No One complained, they all were in the same ‘boat’ as we say. Sweet rations were the highlight of the week, and much thought went into just which type of boiled sweet you would choose! My family lived/ lives, in a mining community near to the city of Sheffield. Sheffield was BLITZED just like London was, bombs were dropped on or near our villages as the German bombers never took any back home with them. Very scary times, especially in these tiny very ‘unworldly’ villages. At the age of 70, I now am fascinated by all things WW2. I truly wish I had asked my mum and grandparents more….

Good luck!!! The only thing I would suggest is to look out for razor blades behind the plaster near the sink. I had heard that medicine cabinets once had slats in the back to dispose of used blades inside the wall. So excited to see this project as it goes along.

😮I think that thin wall is louon. Probably not spelled correctly. 😂 Wear a good mask & put a sheet of plastic to cover doorway. Helps keep the dust contained from rest of your house. ❤
