I have a question regarding cool down mechanic. For example, if you are constantly (every turn) in 2nd gear, does that mean you can put your one heat card every turn from your hand into the discard pile?
@BoardgameNinjas
@BoardgameNinjas 4 күн бұрын
Yes you can. But you won't win the race, since everyone else is much faster than you are in higher gears.

Looks great, both the story and the action card system. I'm intrigued by how the basic formula will be changed by the later chapters. Looking forward to the game! Always happy to support a fellow Dutch designer :) (And apparently I shouldn't miss Amsterdice)

Hello! Great video, thanks! Have anyone ever won this game using the original rules? After four games, we changed 2 things, the using of the magnetic storm card, and we played with 6 containers per players (2 players). After this modifications we arrived back to the station, with 9 supplements, but there weren't enough green ones for winning the game even though we collected them from the 4 and 5 ones...

Hi, waarvoor worden de wandelfiches gebruikt?
@BoardgameNinjas
@BoardgameNinjas Ай бұрын

Was erg verwarrend in eerste instantie. Die fout wordt ook weer in De Blik van de Geest gemaakt.

The twist that the lowest card is more valuable than winning the trick, makes the difference. Then you transfer power (in which you have limited or no choice) and setup the power cords for the next player. If you want Red to have the most power, you can only transfer one of the power plugs to the Red socket and hope that the next player who manipulates the board, is willing to transfer power to red instead of away. I can imagine that with two players this aspect becomes more tit-for-tat and less strategic planning.

Hi Fernwehtwl, that is the first time I got a comment like that, but that doesn't mean it isn't valid. I do have a solution: if you go to the little cog-wheel on the bottom of a video (with all the settings), you can adjust the speed of play. Just put it at 0,75 and Jay talks a little slower, so you can take everything in! Hope you still enjoy the content and thanks for your feedback.

Thanks a lot for the amazing video! :) super well explained and produced. Minor correction for 3 players: The lone player does not use two hands of 4 cards. They just use a single hand of 4 cards.
@MentatBashar
@MentatBashar 2 ай бұрын
Correct. The rulebook says the following for the team variant (3-4 players): "deal each player 4 agent cards in hand".
@BoardgameNinjas
@BoardgameNinjas 2 ай бұрын
Interesting. Of course you are right, since you are the author of the game. I got confused by the picture in the rules and the wording. 'Their' in this sentence is very inclusive, but made me believe one team plays as two players and in the other each plays on their own. Combine that with the picture. On a different note: isn't it quite unfair for the player who plays alone? The team with two players has eight cards to choose from, although they don't know each other's cards. But since the turn order is not set, they can confer who goes first and plays the open card. So the player with the right card for the open spot volunteers while the other can put in the closed card and still has four cards to choose from (one more that the player with only one hand).
@BoardgameNinjas
@BoardgameNinjas 2 ай бұрын
So my question to you is: how did you balance this and what were your findings during play testing? Have you considered playing with two hand of four or turn it around and give the two-players only three cards in hand each, so they have the advantage of two extra cards on their side but the disadvantage of not knowing exactly what the other player has...
@christiankudahl7405
@christiankudahl7405 2 ай бұрын
Good questions! :) In this mode, the two sides hve diffetent advantages. The two players have more total cards, but the single player had an easier time coordinating clever plays as they don’t need to rely on a teammate to place the right card face up. In playtesting, the two sides turned out to be surprisingly even.

Great video. Now that I found this channel I'm watching all the games I like first. As was mentioned in the video, the deck and rules were still a bit experimental. There was a tiny change that cards used for Boosting can be taken from either Discard Pile, and not just yours, so it can be a wise decision where to take. It makes sense as there are also beneficial In The Dicard Pile effects that your opponent uses, and you can snatch their card away. And when Boost cards are discarded(defeated creature), they go to your discard pile, and don't return to the opponent side. I hope the new Battlefruits decks and the Tag Team expansion will also get a feature, I'm anxiously awaiting for my pre-order.

I absolutely love Love Letter for it's simplicity, and still continue to entertain people. Especially when under time constraint or want a quick distraction. Whip this deck out when your group is on the train, or during a small break and let the fun begin. For people watching this video and decide they want to pick up the game - which I encourage - take notice that the game shown here was the classic version. There has been an updated version now adding 5 more cards(2 new characters), bumps up the player total to 6, and updated graphics. But you can easily set those 5 cards aside and play the game as normal classic as that is also the version I prefer. And I also love the spin-offs coming from this game.

The tip about food is good, but even more important: hydrate! The air is warm with 40.000 people per day in there, and over 60.000 on Saturday. Drink water, not beer, on the fair grounds. Beer is for the evenings in the bars and hotels around the area. (also been going there for over 25 years)

Thank you. Never thought about making playthroughs. Maybe we should. Even in my group BSG gets played often. I think it is because the theme fits like a glove and people have invested a lot of money in it. I think Unfathomable has a slightly better rules set, just because they learned from BSG and improved on that.

I don't think it was meant to be a strategic game, but it still has some though decisions in it. The fun comes from the different goals you are pursuing, so only chasing your own goal quickly gets you in trouble.

I would like to ask you something. If i play a hungry monkey i copy the effect of the card below But what about the next player? What card can he play? For example if i play a hungry monkey over a 10, it copies the number of 10? Thank you!!
@BoardgameNinjas
@BoardgameNinjas 3 ай бұрын
Yes, your Hungry Monkey acts as a copy of the card below, so the next player has to play a 10 or higher for it to be valid. Unless he plays a Hungry Monkey himself or a Tiny Ant, which is always valid.

Ok another? for ya my friend. 2 player game: Say the 2nd player chooses to open an additional door and takes the 1st player token. The 3rd turn, player 1, chooses to stay and not turn over more doors. Now, the search. What’s next??
@BoardgameNinjas
@BoardgameNinjas 4 ай бұрын
Next the leader reveals what is behind the two doors that were opened on their board. If a dog is found, then the 'search' stops. If no dog was found, the first player also has to reveal what is behind the two doors. If no dogs were found at all, you are a little wiser and start the following round.

Yes, unless you decide to close them all (and open new ones + 1) or initiate a search. But as I said before, I think part of the game is lost with two players. If you want a game with a similar feel, where you have to figure out what your opponent is doing and it is for 2 players; try Dracula vs Van Helsing: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bIPVpmWugb11mpY

Tha ks for this tuto. One question: After an 8, can I play a 1 without taking all the cards since it is smaller?
@BoardgameNinjas
@BoardgameNinjas 5 ай бұрын
No I don't think so. If the Ant is the topmost card, you take all the cards in the animal pile, except the ant you just played. So you better use the 8 with other cards.
