I love that someone who’s been here for a whopping 2 WHOLE YEARS(at the time of the posting) is trying to say a native Idahoan is wrong. So, first of all, the derivative of the name is the shortening of “Chinese Gardens” since the area known as Garden City was pretty much… wait for it… where all of the Chinese immigrants grew crops, or Gardens. Hence the name Garden City! So phonetically, that could make sense being based off the word Chinese. The resemblance to similar spelled words can seem to verify this. Like Cheese or Cheri. Hell my dad’s name is Charles! But keep in mind Chinook (pronounced SH for all you transplants) is definitely a significant part of Idaho identity. At least when I was a kid anyway. So it’s easy to see how the previous generations would gravitate to this way of pronouncing it. Especially since the word “Chinden” does nothing to indicate it’s derived from Chinese gardens. Secondly, both pronunciations are technically correct since there isn’t an actual official clarification of the proper way to say it. Imagine a New Yorker in Reno telling a local they are saying Nevada wrong! Third of all, for those of us in the minority actually born and raised here, (1976) the majority will tell you it’s always been “SHinden”. Of course there was the rare occasion of hearing someone Shay “chin” den, but it was most likely from someone who just moved here. I remember when tv was just the basic pre-cable channels, and most commercials were for local businesses. There sure were a lot of used car lots on Chinden back then, and in those commercials they always said SHinden. Not saying that’s the end all, but more pointing out regardless of what is “technically” correct, (which as I pointed out there isn’t one), it’s what has been accepted as commonplace in the local culture. Even people in Caldwell called it SHinden, since well it goes all the way out there too. I guess if we really wanted to be technical, it’s neither, since it’s actually US Highways 20/26. If y’all really want to get into word pronunciation arguments, go to the UK and ask about aluminum. Or is it Aluminium?😂

California transplants in idaho and it's their first time on a boat at the lake. That's what it looks like to me. They've clearly never seen a sturgeon let alone any fish for that matter.

You guys were my childhood I'm glad y'all are still doing well. And now I feal like I need to tell a story of why I can't listen anymore. So I used to live in Boise Idaho and listened to you every single day. I then moved to Melba. Then to Florida and I heard a song that reminded me of you guys a song that came on often when I listened. Then I disided to do research and found out y'all had a KZbin channel. I miss listening to y'all. You guys were my biggest lose when I moved.

Looks more like a cold air funnel or possible Landspout but I've notice NWS in different regions define them differently I really wish they would come up with straight forth definitions all crossed the USA it gets frustrating because good example NWS denver will call that a gustnado but NWS Cleveland will call it something different

You can't actually see any body or solid material. All you can see are large bubbles which is a scuba diver under the water. Hence the boat. He is scuba diving the lake and they decide to take video to make it look like monster in the lake. good try. I used to be a scuba diver. Those are diver bubbles.

Let me guess.,.You're from California? You should have seen Idaho before it got INFILTRATED by know -it-all Californians.Ive been here for 50 ,and far more reputable people than you swear there's something in that lake, just like ALL glacial lakes around the same latitudes on Earth in the North and Southern Hemispheres people see large, unknown creatures in deep lakes...long before California was a glimmer in the white mans eye.maybe it's a dead Californian bobbing around ruining our water ?!
