Keep sacrifice performance people e-tecs are way better than 4 strokes anyway. 4 strokes more to break down. 2 strokes way better never ever would I waste my money on a 4 stroke you are sacrifice so must in performance. Ow I forgot that's what America came too.

Back in the 80s and the 90s evinrude was the only outboard I would buy. Once evinrude came up with the etec garbage, that was the end of them. Mercury and Yamaha are the most trusted outboards these days.

I have 3 old evinrudes that run perfectly. Sad they went under.

etec easier to maintain, highly reliable, lighter, more torque...so mercury bought it out and shut it down. I'm still buyin em used for cheap....2 stroke is better for an outboard.

Sorry, but using different drivers, different trim angle, and different boats makes this marketing crap rather than defendable testing.

We hope BRP resume the Outboards engines production ( Evinrude Or/and Rotax ) with the new 4 stroke range from 25 HP to 300 HP and G3 series multi fuel ( Gasoline, Kerosene & LPG ).

OMC was the gold standard for years. Mercury wasn't bad but they were not as reliable. Yamaha got into the market and copied Johnson/Evinrude to where you could almost swap parts. Around the year 2000 the EPA got involved and every manufactuer had issues. All three were blowing powerheads. Since Evinrude outboards didn't look as nice as Mercury's and they didn't have the mystique as a Jap motor (AKA Toyota) they got blacklisted. The internet was new and guys were running their mouths. Evinrude took it in the crotch. I remember these times well. All the bass guys were saying you have to have whatever brand they were running whether it was rods, reels, line, etc and everything else was garbage. I now know that was all bullshit. They're all trying to sell you a product just as they are today. Wake up

No e-tec is way better than 4 strokes way to heavy I would never waste my money on a 4 stroke never did always got 2 strokes never sacrifice performance at all. Evenrude did it right.

If they had locked the engines at similar "tilt" angle towards the boat, then I would have given this video a bit more value. Easy to see the boat on the left has his engine more tilted than the two others. The start however, that goes to the one on the left.

The etec might get you there faster but the Yamaha will get you home.

The last slogan just blows me away, "the more speed, the more fishing time" no fam, this isnt a vehicle to take one from A to B this is about the driving of the boat

Well Yamaha and Mercury are still around and Evinrude went out of business the most Reliable outboard motors are Yamaha Suzuki and Mercury
