I hope you cleaned off the block before putting on the base gasket and cylinder as there was old gasket material all over it still when you installed the piston.

Thanks for the video. Sorry for what is probably a dumb question, but are those rockers that you installed stock or aftermarket?

why you have the vacuum advance hooked on to the manifold vacuum port? when I do this on my edelbrock 1406 the car idles up and down rpm and hard gear shifting

For some unknown reason, mine runs better off manifold vacuum. Tried ported vacuum and it ran like crap.

My 2009 has a frame bracket right over the top of the head, cant get to the top two head bolts. . Instead of removing engine, Ill just cut the fram bracket off and re weld after top end rebuild. UGH great engineering by Polaris.

What’s the wheel and tire spec combo? Especially on the rear I just picked up a 73 and was going to go 10” wide, maybe 4-5” backspace?
@oldjalopygarage7288

Tires on back are P285/60D15 and I think the backspace is 5". Not positive, was quite a while ago!

@@oldjalopygarage7288 right on I really appreciate your reply. Trying to snag up a ‘73 right now and I want to fill the rear wheel wells up if it needs new tires anyway might as well order a wider black ralley for the back and save tire money. Did you get rid of that one?

I’m doing a head gasket on a 96 Magnum so your videos are extremely helpful. One question…before starting it for the first time, did you give it an oil change or did you let it run for a bit, then change it?
@oldjalopygarage7288
@oldjalopygarage7288 2 жыл бұрын
Fresh oil and filter on first start. Some antifreeze got into the crankcase when the head gasket blew. So oil kept getting milky. Changed the oil a few times after running until oil wasn’t milky anymore.

I would recommend next time when changing a cam shaft to when ever you take the 3 bolts off the timing sprocket to tie something up to it so you don’t haft to adjust you timing chain
