That was really a long run, congratulations! It's not like when hitting Diamond for the first time, because this one shows even more punishes (even though some of them failed which is understandable) and much calmer compared to when you were Diamond (still somewhat panic in critical situation like missing fatal hits).

Sometimes it's better to lay back a little, fighting games are about keeping the upper hand and if you feel like you're going to mess up part of the combo it could come at great cost, playng a little safer is fine most of the time

Tilting_cat you on to something. I'm trying to change my bad habit of jumping by instead shimmying. I think that doing that is better than just jumping into their arms but I don't know if its the best option. Thoughts?

@@propperbubble check with backdash neutral jump if they go forward then they usually a react player and you can bait dp by jumping outside of dp range;walking em slowly is the best option since modern got crack reaction but they usually fall for frame traps edit: why check by walk forwad? cause most shoto modern dp button is forward+special

I watch your vids to psych myself up before playing, im happy I made it to masters but it was hard, took me like 12+ hours from diamond 5. Patience is probably the hardest part about maining Zangief, everybody handles like a golf cart, Gief handles like a Semi.

need to sweep more;gladius = marissa is sweepable,also superman punch is counterable by crouch light punch or medium punch if she is far

tip for gief user on mirror match don't use dr heavy sweep;use dr. crouch medium kick you can combo it to hellstab and cancel into DI

you should try the safe jump set up vs corners;those with dp usually can't resist it and eat 6k dmg afterward edit:don't jump vs modern they got 1 frame dp;just block the random do and punish

The Akuma wave is absurd right now. I’ve mained Akuma for some time but I hate the mirror. Please know though that Geif is absolutely terrifying in this version. If you’re terrified of us, it’s likely we’re just as terrified of you.

If you're diamond rank and you run into a new challenger, you should be afraid. Your "rank" for the purposes of matchmaking when using a new character is based on the average rank of your other characters, so if they're up against a diamond player, it likely means their other most used characters are highly ranked, and thus their fundamentals are extra solid.

btw if you land uncharged heavy punch and enemy is not thrown away;you got enough frame to do cheeky light spd(also lily is hard cause she break armor)
