When will our VA Healthcare System teeth as being a vital part of the human body? Thousands of veterans are committing suicide every year for two main reasons, lack of pension pay and the lack of full dental care benefits. Our military veterans is the only population in America that doesn’t have full dental care benefits but yet, our VA will pay for sex change operations to make a veteran feel better but not for veterans who need to live better…😢😢😢😢

When will the VA get into the 21st century? They're just a couple of steps away from the lobotomies done in the 1950s in response to mental health issues. "Here, take these pharmaceuticals that carry a plethora of side effects for which you will need MORE pharmaceuticals."

In 1970 6 vets and I were called to the office at Palm Beach Jr College. She said the VA is not paying foe your education any longer. Get the hell off my campus! We left.

I went to my lender for payment assistance. They told me I couldnt qualify for help till 61 days late! Then it takes 30+ days to get approved or denied. By then its too late!!

The VA Champ VA is not paying my wifes healthcare and it is costing us a bad reputation in our community as the healthcare provider is telling people here that we do not pay our medical bills and it is Champ VA not paying for care that is provided. Champ VA is not taking care of the bills.

“The VA is doing everything possible to keep veterans and their families in their homes.” What about unhoused veterans? In the City of LA, dozens of unhoused veterans are in the City’s Inside Safe motel shelter program. Does that it’s more dignified than anything accessible through the VA? I’d expect more from the 2nd largest department in the USA government.

I'm not sure how the VASP Program will help me when it's up to my Mortgage holder (Wells Fargo) to determine if they will allow me to use the program and thus far they have not approved me. Why did the VA or the Senate that approved this program make the mortgage holder the approval authority? What reason would they have to approve me? They were give several options to offer (voluntarily) to the Veteran. 1. Pay back in full the arrears owed on the mortgage in full then continue payments on the original mortgage. 2. Loan modification: which includes several thousands of $ in new charges and closing costs of the and a new interest rate, which for me went from 3.75% to the new 7.85% maybe higher by the closing date of the new mortgage agreement. 3. Foreclosure of the home and loss of all equity. or Option number 4. in which they turn over the servicing of the original mortgage to the VA for servicing. You tell me which option a financial institution in the business of making money would opt for.

Some urgent care clinics are contracted by the VA. They usually have the VA symbol or placard posted somewhere. It’s best to call around so you don’t need to drive around.

Also, ask your primary VA clinic or VA hospital for a list of local urgent care and ERs in your area that take VA health care. When I moved to a new state, my new VA clinic had an orientation and gave me a list of places to go.

Also, don’t wait until you don’t feel well to call around to find a place to go. Start now, and make your own list if your VA clinic doesn’t have a list.

Contrary to an opinion below, I couldn't be happier with my VA. No, it wasn't always what it is today and undoubtedly there's a difference between facilities. But for those of us from the RVN era -- who know all too well what it was in the late '60's -- and now in the Durham system, it's a damn miracle. And thank you to all who do their level-best in support of us.

I tried scheduling a PCP visit for covid like symptoms. 'Hell naw, go to the Urgent Care down the street, good to go?' It was a huge time saver as I got seen and evaluated (yeah it was covid) that same day. Just wish it was easier to know/locate in network providers for both Urgent Care Centers and Pharmacies; that's a big pain in the butt.

The VA is so inept, it needs to be completely disbanded and the veterans given free insurance for private healthcare. The corruption, incompetence and nepotism is too ingrained to clean it up. Close it permanently and give that budget money directly to veterans.

@musak.4068 The Mission Act allows veterans to go to the Emergency Room at any hospital, but there are stipulations. You can't choose your own private, primary care physician, or get referrals to other private specialists from that private, primary care physician, so it's not free insurance. I just watched my father, a Vietnam Vet get murdered by the VA by over-medicating him with pharmaceutical poisons. I am an Iraq Freedom Vet, and I no longer trust or have any faith in the VA. Governor Kay Ivey just had to force the director of the Alabama VA out of office when he refused to resign due to his incompetence. Be a fool and trust them if you want. They've killed more veterans than all the wars combined. I can't go to a doctor of my choosing, outside of the VA. So, kindly explain what you mean by "we...we have free health insurance.." Because I've been dealing with this corrupt system for 40 years and it appears you're either just trying to be a smartass or you're somehow involved with the VA, and willing to defend it. Please, explain your comment in detail.

@@joqerjoe3716 Are you arguing that every single thing in life costs money, which is true, and also makes your initial comment pointless? If not, then yes, we receive free healthcare. And also yes, we can request to be seen by OUTSIDE physicians (that would be private clinics) if we are not satisfied with care at the local VA. I've done it. All of these things are because we essentially have free health insurance. Are we paying for medication? Doctor visits? No.

Remember to vote for the party that passed the expansion of VA benefits, not the one who opposed them. Look up the votes for the PACT Act if you are unsure. Project 2025 wants to strips VA benefits down to nothing but physical combat injuries at best.

Just make sure you let your PCM know within the three day window. That is not on their web site...at least when I went so they turned around and billed TRICARE.

VA is tops in my book. They have tested and found items that needed attention that Medicare providers missed. I have been using the VA since 1999 and have seen them get progressively get better and better. They are now as good as any civilian provider.

VA- is there a co-pay after three visits to urgent care when your primary care clinic refers or tells you to go to urgent care/that the clinic is not a walk in clinic because there are no appointments available to be seen (probably because the clinic on day one was too small for the number of veterans in the area) ? I have asked this question to numerous VHA personnel, and no one seems to be able to answer me.

I went to use urgent care near me and handed my VA ID Card, they said I needed a pre authorization before they could see me, good luck with a community care pre-auth when you need care.

I used urgent care as recently as August 3rd and the bill was paid the following week. My urgent care is right across the street from its related hospital. The only problem is my local VA facility no longer has urgent care and emergency room care. If anything arises I am always told to go to urgent care. Fine, if it's to stitch up a cut, but for continued are the VA comes up short. I needed follow-up care which is non-existent with the VA. The wait time to get integrated into the system to see a specialist is months. I used my Medicare/Blue Cross supplement with a private doctor. And, there is a limit on the number of times a vet can see an outside urgent care. So, when Senator Murray extols the greatness of the VA and continuation of care, it's limited to Seattle VA, not American Lake.

What about making urgent Dental care availabile! I have an abscess that is killing me and the VA Dental has not helped at all because I chose Community care after they cancelled my dental appointments 3 times! This problem today may have been caught sooner. Still in pain and the community care dentist wants $1000.00 to fix my tooth that is also infected now. Oh I am 100%.

Love that ive been treated 3 times at urgent care for free. However, i believe irs still only two authorizations per year, and you need to call the VA via triage or the other nimber i forgot, to find out whuch urgent care in your area accepts VA.

I can say the Dr. Emergency room Dr. couldn.t speak English. It took me 3-4 hrs. to convince him to write the prescription. I finally convinced a Dr. to give me a chest ex ray. She got fired. I will say the Bay Pines VA Hospital treated me well. We call Hunter Holmes the butcher shop because the teaching hosp. med students practice operating on vets. My brother in law was asked if hears voices at the WPB VA hosp. He replied, I hear God's voice every day. The locked him up in the psych ward for 2 weeks. They let him out because patients were getting saved. My Navy best friend was turned down in NY for COPD benefits for 20 yrs. The Dr. at Bay pines said," It says right here in your medical exam when you retired that you have COPD caused by asbestos. I'm glad you found a good VA hosp.
