i did exactly the same as you, i double and triple checked, but my sound was always a bit different and off compared to yours. however, the main issue i see is the sidechaining. when i put lfo tool/waveshaper, the whole bassline is broken, because it ducks the volume of the notes that are on the kick. i tried with the live compressor like you, but that just sounded wrong. itry to get to the basslines like these 2 track by hujaboy kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4nGooGuYqaFfK8 & kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYaxf2OAi7amhqM

@@jaraluca no i did it right, i think it sounded different bc of portamento and cutoff settings. but my main question was how am i supposed to sidechain the bassline on the notes that sit on the kick. i tried with waveshaper but that breaks the bassline

Hi, thank you for your tutorial, I don't understand how you sample the bass in the BASS SAMPLE track....you don't show the conversion in your video...thanks in advance.

In ableton is actually very easy. You just need to have bass samples or create them. Then you need to place them in Sampler or Simpler and what you need to remeber. If you will use lets say sample bass " Bass G#1" you need to use in your piano roll C3 :) so then you will be sure you will play oryginal sample sound in G#1. There is actually more to do if someone wants to work with samples for the bass. To be honest, I still dont recommend to use it . I would rather recommend to buy some bass presets for serum
