My Xmax did the same thing. I had it from brand new but after a couple of months, sometimes it would not start. Yamaha replaced batteries, then the keys then on and on it went. 9 breakdowns later I managed to convince them to replace the receiver inside the bike. Then traded the bike. If it wasnt for that I still would have the xmax

I found that if my cellphone was too close to my key fob I would have problems starting. Solution, never keep your cellphone in the same pocket as key.

Tjena! Thanks for the video. I had make choose between ADV 350 or Xmax 300. In Thailand I had few long trip with Xmax, and I fell in love it. But after riding ADV, she got my soul. So both are good choice. Cheers!

Upgrading the rear shocks to YSS G-sport was the best thing I ever did to my XMAX. such a HUGE difference!

Yes I live in the city and the season is around 7 months and it's a scooter. You can't compere it to a regular motorcycle that makes a lot of miles on the highway.

I just bought a 2024 XMax 300, and have the first 625 mile (1000km) service tomorrow morning. So far I have to agree that I am loving the thing. Helps that I live in an area where 5C is about as cold as it *ever* gets, and rain is an “occasional” thing. Either way, have to agree it’s a great bike.

@jmcminn1076 Oh, you're lucky! We had -3°C this morning, but I took the bike anyway 😁 One thing that I forgot to mention. When it's zero degrees Celsius, the bike has problems starting. I don't know if the battery is too weak.

@ we have 40F overnight lows (5C) in the forecast this week, but the daytime highs are all in the 62F to 74F (16C to 24C) range. I used to live in an area where winter was a thing… don’t miss it. 😁. But I’d be like you and stubbornly take the bike out anyway. Lol. Have safe rides.

Was it because the stand was down? Xmax will not start with the stand down!

@edwardwilson4974 No it was because I had the dji action 4 with the powerful magnetic casing to close to the keyfob. The magnet disturbed the signals from the keyfob.

0:05 Just got a 2023 XMax. Planning some long tours here in Canada 🇨🇦. Trying to travel as light as possible. Just one 50 litre duffel bag and underseat storage. (You can tour on any bike really)

Batteries last a couple of years i allways have one spare taped to the inside of the storage you should also see a warning light when you first start the bike letting you know the battery is running low

@@skythebike5860 I discovered the fault I had. It's the magnet on my dji action 4 camera. It's disturbing the signal of the key fob😬

@MRkreuster That makes sense. I would always have problems with having my cellphone too close to the key. I used to have the same problem with my honda and it's keyless system.

Tip: Always carry the code numbers and a written tutorial on how to turn on the Xmax without the key in your wallet for those unlikely moments of failure.

These little bikes are so light and handy, with enough power! Owning a BMW R 1150 RT I'm planning to trade it in for a Honda or Yamaha 300 cc motorscooter. BMW big one is great to ride, but manouvring in the back garden and little barn is not easy. I have a car with an automatic gearbox, but with the 1150 I must shift a lot... These little bikes are automatics, for me as getting older I prefer more comfort.

Yeah, this bikes are great. I think these lightweight bikes will become more popular as having a big bike is no longer as important. You can see at the EICMA fair that more manufacturers are investing in motorbikes that weigh under 200 kg

@cristianbernal2656 Thx. No problems mechanical. This is one of the best bikes I ever owned, been driving since the age of 9 (mini honda). I use it for commuting to work from beginning of mars to november. The bike is not for longer highway trips due to your butt getting sore. One hour and then you need a break. A higher windshield is recommended if you will be doing highway a lot over speeds of 90kmh.

It didn't fix the problem. It works fine for a while and then the same problem again. You can see in the video that it blinks when I'm driving after I get my ticket. Remembered later that I had the same problem last summer and actually had a spare battery in the glove compartment from last season 😊
