You have to be careful about the compressor duty cycle. If you accidently over breath and go beyond the compressors rated duty cycle then the Teflon seals/rings on the pistons inside the compressore will begin to get super hot and Teflon off gassing will get into your air stream, not good.

I would have done the same thing an I am a mechanic. Should run fine for a long time. I would make sure the engine room fan is on when running that engine to keep from a carbon monoxide buildup from that leak.

@brianpino7274 never less than 2 - 3 jobs for the past 30 ish years. firefighter/ medic, fishing guide, construction, flipping property & houses, pressure washing, detailing, flipping boats, overtime at the fire house whenever I can. A wife that bust her ass also....good money choices..... A goal to accomplish these dreams and the work ethic to not give up... And good credit so the bank helps....lol

Looks like you got it done, yeah those cast iron raw water risers are only good for a few years in the salt. I've been a marine mechanic starting out as a helper since 1985, I'm a diesel guy that briefly took a job working on gas stuff/outdrives for about 6 months and decided to go back to diesels. A friend did a lot of stern drive gas stuff, we get a lot of midwest boaters move to the coast with their 25 yr old Sea Ray etc and he tells them "replace those manifolds" and they don't listen, six months later the call is "my engine is locked up" because the manifold failed, filled it with sea water, and it went un discovered for weeks.

Sounds nice , i have 2 boats , 1972 luhrs one with twin 318 one single . Had to rebuild the staboard reverse rotation and the single , reverse rotation . Its nice to see in house rebuild , i put mine together over the winter , in ct. Safe travels to ya
