Not only does this song fit so painfully well but the cover of it with the slightly distorted effects add to the tragedy flavor and Clouds breaking mentality 😭 God 2:19 with Aerith on the bridge and Cloud yelling at Sephiroth over the line of "id get him to swap our places" actually had me tearing up bc akzhsndkdh 😭😭😭 before they went thru the gate/fought the whispers Aerith knew some of her future and choose her potential death to keep Cloud (and everyone) safe. And she accepts that but Cloud when faced with her death is literally broken bc he refuses to accept that shes truly gone
