Great instructions! I always seem to not be able to connect my botton knee...then when I do, I can't release my top arm. I can't wait to practice what you just taught me. TY!!!

There is a very unique style/type of pole I saw once at a club. It was very short, maybe 5 ft tall. It was very thin, maybe 30mm or 35mm. I don’t know if it could support body weight for extended periods of time. It ‘whipped’ or ‘wobbled’ back and forth, because of a ball at its base that allowed the whole pole to rock back and forth and around like a video game controller joystick. The performers used the rocking ‘joystick’ like motion of the pole to perform moves that resembled pole vaulting like you’d see in the Olympics, but on a smaller scale of course. And also incorporating fan kicks and somersaults and such. One of the dancers even twisted over the TOP of the pole, which would be impossible on a traditional pole of course. Have you ever heard/seen of this type of pole before? Or maybe it was a custom thing for the club, I don’t know. I can’t find much out about it online, maybe you could help if you know something about it?

I have a question for you, maybe you know more about it. There is a very unique style/type of pole I saw once at a club. It was very short, maybe 5 to 6 ft tall. It was very thin, maybe 30mm or 35mm. I don’t know if it could support body weight for extended periods of time. Clubs seem to have a lot of crazy unique pole types that you don’t see in studios or competitions. Like, I’ve either seen or heard of: 1. A pole that bounces up and down on hidden internal springs, instead of spinning 2. A motorized spinning pole 3. A pole with a seat built in 4. Poles with various protrusions from the sides and on top for added acrobatic ability 5. Poles that are thicker, like 70 or 80mm, and thus have a whole different technique set needed to use them 6. A spiral/corkscrew pole that looks exactly like those ‘swirly poles’ you see at kids playgrounds. 7. Dual poles that are 2 or 3 feet apart, with the spinning axis pivot point in the middle of them (because the whole platform they are in spins with them), so that one or more person can do pole moves where they have body contact with the two poles at the same time Maybe they are custom made by the clubs? It’s a shame because they all sound pretty cool and I think they would have a lot of potential for acrobatics…

It's not an armpit grip, is it? Looks more like bracket grip or baseball grip. You see how her forearm on her right side is making contact with the pole and it's not underneath her armpit.

For people with long torsos and short limbs the starting position needs to be adjusted a little to be successful. They need to lean back a little further so the pole is closer and slightly above the hip bone. Also, leaning sideways into the pole also helps.
