I did most of my national service at Group 42 in 1993, working as a clerk at HQ during the day and then working in the Ops room a few nights per week. Also went out into Soweto for roadblocks etc as well as doing some recces with Solly and Biza, well-know characters at Group 42 as was the Group Sargeant Major who is surely dead now given how much he used to suip.

You are 100% correct. I have been here 16 years (US citizen). Getting out of this hellhole as soon as I work out the logistics. The majority of Swiss are rule obsessed, anal, sour, mean-spirited, narrow-minded, rigid, humourless, uptight and arrogant. You don't see the true Switzerland, the underbelly, until after you've lived here for a substantial amount of time. Worst people I’ve ever encountered and I’ve travelled the world. Having said that, I have met a handful of decent, kind Swiss - but that handful is tiny after 16 years here....The nature remains beautiful, the mentality of the people unbearable. I only object to your use of the word ‘swine’. Pigs are wonderful, intelligent, clean, friendly animals and make wonderful pets.. I do not approve of people referring to 'subhumans' or A-h's as dogs, swine, pigs, rats, or any other 'animal term'. Our four legged friends should be kept out of the discussion.

Mora almal..dit lat my terug dink aan einde 1981..buite Enhana..het ek en a Koevoet Sersant boshoede geruil..Om eendag Weer Om te ruil in civvy straat..most Honest Loyal person I've ever met..he was stationed in Greytown..well we met up again out the blue in 1986..and he remembered me..I really respected him and kept him in my mind all these years..I only met him in the bush on patrol in 1981 and kept a promise..
