I was taught to go into just the back loop and crochet over/under in every stitch. I have not seen 1 learning video teach this.

Thank you, that was very helpful! I am conquering double crochet stitch. For me, counting the stitches helps. If i did wrong, it is easy go rip out then move on.

Yes! Congrats on conquering the double crochet! Tearing stitches and retrying is a crucial (and frustrating) part of learning.. or at least it was for me, still is.
