Does anyone have a link to a worship service that provides an example of an intentional time of focused giving? Not just taking up an offering, but intentional giving? Thanks!

Hey! I am an audio engineer who specializes in church audio, and I get contracted out to not only install new equipment, but also to fix mixes, train volunteers, etc. Good tips! Something to note: please be careful with EQ, compressors, noise gates. They can be helpful, but they can quickly become part of the problem. WIth EQ, please only subtract in a live setting. Also with Compression, it can really tighten up and make your mix blend, but it can also flatten everything out or even distort. Also, the separate mix is a good shout! However, most modern digital soundboards are able to do this entirely onboard, without the need for a second physical board. It's more work for the sound engineer, but it's absolutely doable!

This is a very helpful comment! I can confirm, we've had people in my church look at our setup and our board that are much more knowledgeable than me and their fixes were right on par with this comment. EQ's more so "taking out bad frequencies" rather than trying manipulate the signal entirely, and we have a Behringer wing x32 for a board which can do the separate mix for the livestream entirely on the same board that runs audio for everything. Very good advice and thank you for the comment. -David

A pastor is only one finger on a hand. apostles, prophets ,evangelists , teachers, make up the other four. In a heathy assembly or gathering, they all serve together in unity to help lift people up into both their identity and into their maturity to become a Christ like person. I believe the Bible purposely does not capitalize any of the positions, only Christ Himself who is blessed forever.

Does your church function this way, with five coequal leaders?
@sparkyplug788
@sparkyplug788 5 күн бұрын
Yes I believe it does. Another great analogy someone once told me is when you look at a green lawn, all you see is grass. Upon closer inspection, you will notice some blades are a little taller than others. They are a little taller because they are more mature and they have established deeper roots. The 5 fold ministries are not for a select few, or to those who go to Bible college, it can be, but it’s not necessary . It is necessary, however, is to develop an intimate prayer life and a continual reading of God’s word. The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus to us .Do not be called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ, and you are all brothers. Mathew 23:8

Is there ever a case where we can use the same keywords amongst ad groups especially with the grant since it’s so challenging to use all of the grant? What about using the company name (if it has search volume) throughout campaigns and ads?
@reachright
@reachright 6 күн бұрын
Using the same keywords probably help you much, but it might not hurt. Using your organization name is always a good idea, but very rarely will it lead to a lot of grant spend unless you are very well known.

This whole video is disgusting. Being called by our Precious Most High God is NOT a stepping stone to make a ton of money. Nothing like being a Servant of our Lord and Savior. A salary which will provide a decent living is what any Pastor should be paid.. Period ... I apologize....I forgot that Jesus and His Diciples were all well paid. My mistake. bullocks

@reachright Do you really not pay for anything once using google grant? I read in a subreddit that it's not really free money because you still pay for the ads. Like for example in order to get the $10,000 free ads your budget should also be $10,000, that it would look like you pay for $10,000 but get $20,000 instead (the additional 10k is the free from google ad grant) Sorry, with that subreddit post, i got confused
@reachright
@reachright 10 күн бұрын
No, that isn't the case. You actually get $10,000 of ads credit without having to spend any of your own money. Some nonprofits hire companies like ours to manage that $10,000 to get the most out of it, but we make videos like these for people who want to learn to manage it themselves for free.

I am just getting started and would love an in depth beginners tutorial on Canva. I was thinking about going with Gimp, but my Church's A/V director suggested that I check out Canva. I am most interested in creating lower thirds for use with our ATEM Mini Extreme ISO.
@reachright
@reachright 7 күн бұрын
Canva is definitely more suited for very simple motion graphics that appear on something like a video announcement bulletin screen. For Lower third animations, try Jitter (Jitter.video) as a first step. They have a free trial that you should be able to create all of your lower thirds from and then cancel if you don't want to continue the membership. Alternatively lower thirds are generally referred to as "motion graphic templates" for things like premiere pro and after effects. you can search for these and find all sorts of them for sale and fully editable. -David

Interesting take in 2024 for churches. I am thinking the same thing to do with my church; should we live stream, invest in all this equipment and gear , or do like you mentioned, make videos on demand and make it more engaging on the socials. I do believe that in this day and age, one needs to have some sort of online presence. Which one gives more bang for a buck?
@reachright
@reachright 13 күн бұрын
You are so right! You need to be online. And the biggest cost to live streaming is the people. It takes an army of volunteers to do it well. Most churches are better off focusing on video on demand.

Here's the thing we aren't talking about and they get paid for all of this. I'm a pastors son and have been in ministry as a pastor myself. I also have a slew of friends in ministry. Pastors do funerals and weddings and get paid sometimes very well for that. They are guest speakers and evangelists as a side gig. Many of them write books and are paid for that. There are some with side gigs or businesses they run during daytime hours and for some churches business hours don't apply to them because they can come and go as they please (Not all of them but some) so they can double dip with a church salary and a side gig ( or even a second full time job) . They are on the boards of non-profit missions groups and often are paid for that. Some of them get their college paid for specifically for being in ministry. Their cell phone is often paid for. They get free trips as the church often gifts them with ( for example 7 days in hawaii or cruises- I speak from personal experience) . Their missions trips are paid for ( some of these missions trips now cost upwards of $7k) with very nice accommodations. They do workshops and events in super cool locations and stay at amazing hotels and the church pays for it. I have pastor friends who did a big event near Disney world and the church paid for them to stay at Disney resorts and for the entire family to go to Disney world. Churches often have vehicles owned by the church that the pastor will drive on a daily basis so they get to save a lot of money. Pastor (in some cases daily) get to take people out to lunch on the church credit card and it happens to pay for the pastors meal as well. Pastors have so much free food thrown at them. Pastors get discounts that are sometimes beyond what US military get. They get what I used to call "handshake hundred dollar bills", where someone reaches out to give you a handshake and there's a $100 inside the hand. Also pastors get some of the coolest missions trips ever cause let's be honest, some are staying in 5 star hotels. Did you know that some churches pay for the pastors golf? They do, I've seen it with my own eyes. I could go on but no one wants to read that. Ill just say this. These guys aren't mistreated, or poor. They are ABLE to delegate much of the church work, live nearly free in some cases and get a very cushy salary in this day and time. I've played golf with many of them and they spend money like water. I've seen a lot of stats that say the average is mid $75k and that is above the average salary overall in the US. It's very sneaky but it goes far beyond "here's what the average paycheck is for a pastor". The average doesn't even begin to touch what pastors get paid or what he saves in daily cost. My dad was a hard working pastor and I loved and respected him. There are many of them I love and respect. Don't take this all as hate. It's not. Some do take advantage of the system and for those it should be shameful. However the other side is that some churches allow that. It can be hard work but there are many who have it very good. The salary part is just a small portion of what they get paid.

I work in the pest control industry so I go to sometimes 10 houses a day. In most cases pastors are living very well in very nice homes. No matter how nice the person is it always puts a little bit of a stain on the way that I look at them. I understand that they have to support their family, and I’m not expecting them to live in a trailer park, but it just doesn’t sit right. It’s a very sticky situation. I feel like that they should live no better than the average person in their congregation and what I see a lot of the times is them living like the top 5% of their congregation, maybe even 1%.
