I don't think so. if you celebrate Halloween it was like following the patterns of this world right? I mean in halloween people wear scary costumes and wear demonic make ups. I don't think its right. There are a lot of ways to build connection in the community without compromising like thanksgiving, christmas parties, etc. or you can also create new event on the day of the halloween but not really name it as a halloween party.

As critical and negative as this sounds - and I own that - our Worship Leader plays the same songs repeatedly and it's amazing how it immediately detracts from the congregation's experience. He's also a musician separately and I don't think he understands that this is a ministry and not a performance the same as his personal band. Struggling here.

My pastor watches me a lot. To the point saints in the church noticed it and told me. He would do strange things. Hold my hand and no let go pulling me to him I would snatch away. He one time gripped me on my way out of service. He do strange things toward me. It caused me to leave the church.

In my country Halloween used to be perceived as pagan tradition, so nah, churches do not celebrate it, if a Catholic organization (like private school) participated in sth connected to halloween it would meet a lot of bad press. However, bc of globalization more n more people are starting to do that.

I agree with this. Its a huge outreach potential. Our church, this year, is partaking in the town trunk n treat, but its not at the church. Some felt like we would get more foot traffic if people didnt have to come to the church. We will see how it goes. I voiced my opposing view as a board member and church leader that we need to keep it at the church for people to feel welcomed AT the church, but I didnt push the issue too hard.
