Hard to believe its the same Ivan Putski. Amazing how terribly age can have its way with a person's body.

The match was still a really watered down version of the matches CZW and XPW were doing a decade ago. There's a reason ultraviolent wrestling was niche and underground and won't ever work in the mainstream.

Who would have known back in his prime that the big nasty One Man Gang was the model that EVERY pro wrestler should strive to be like? Also Ronnie Garvin…Even Greg Valentine had his hands full with him, lol.

Think about it, if Bill Apter, with all the things he’s seen in wrestling, thought that this was the most violent match he’s ever seen..😬🩸💉

just careless, yes they need to do something as they are clearly lacking viewership. This was NOT the way to gain positive momentum. Do not think it was a shoot at all, may have turned into mild shoot as match went on but regardless lacked professionalism. AEW is a lost cause just when not if they are done.

I havent seen that match. But i want to say i prefer apter over meltzer. I loved your mag work, it made wrestling fun and even though maybe a lot of the stuff you wrote about didnt happen it fit with the showbusiness of pro wrestling and it was supposed to be an illusion. Well thanks for all those great mags i still read today.

It's exactly what you get from a card booked by a man child who's using his daddy's money. You get nonstop unnecessary violence by two men who think they're Stone Cold and The Rock

Now watching Wrestling vor nearly 40 years and as a fan of hardcore Wrestling I agree that there s got to be a limit....! Don t know how this two athletes in the main event can agree doing all this violence to each other just to get media attention??....That s the only way I can understand this! As AEW has nothing to do with ECW (which was from the beginning targeting hardcore wrestling fans!) I wonder what is going on in Tony K. s mind? If there is a chance you end in a wheel chair or worse in a televised match (without this violence shown today is already high enough)...that has absolutely no place in wrestling anymore! I ve seen the matches of Funk vs. Mick Foley and that was already more than there should be to it.....but I feel a 100 times more comfortable watching this latter match than this Main Event Show with Hangman vs. Strickland! Their first Texas Death Match was already very violent! But that was enough...What s next? Throwing someone of a cliff? Just to say the difference...Remember: you can break your neck only once or "only" break your back (spine!) to sit the rest of your life in a wheel chair....! There are hundreds or thousands of kids watching this stuff! Plastic bag stuff!?? No need for that! To dangerous and no fun at all watching...It puts Wrestling in a bad spot where I don t want it to be! Period! I loved Terry Funk R.I.P. and Mick Foley...but there has to be a limit a NO GO STUFF Agreement Policy! I want the athletes to be safe at all times or at least try to be....(with of course the risk you always can get injured if you re into this sport)!

Great event. Fantastic win for Hangman Page. The violence didn't bother me. They know what they are getting into, nobody is forcing them to have that match. Everyone I was talking with really enjoyed it.

I really did not like that main event one bit. The only match I thought to watch before that was Ospreay vs PAC which was good. I turned on the main event and it was just stupidity on stupidity. Unless a handful of guys that I like are on a AEW card it’s gonna take a lot to get me to watch again. I don’t see how if there were kids watching that if parents will ever let them watch wrestling again. Not just AEW, that’s it for them for wrestling. It’s not something that should be done at this level ever in any case. Just needless violence. Now what I see AEW is willing to do as a company as a main event I’m hoping the few guys I like there to get out. The few japanese guys I like go on back to Japan same with the luchadores there’s money in Mexico. If you can get your foot in the door at TNA or NXT take that and run with it. I don’t know how those wrestlers on that card go home after watching that feeling confident saying “Man that was a great PPV we put on did you see that last spot the people loved that WOW” I’d look at the date my contract ends going “Ok the day before have your bags packed a car booked so when this ends you can call up Shawn Michaels or the people over at TNA and get on over there”
