Would also be interested what a bad manager with good leadership looks like? Sounds like it only exist theoretically...

I disagree, as development opportunities are dependent on your manager to a great extent based on my personal experience across 4 companies in the financial industry. That is despite me being active and proactive about my own development. So I'd be more interested in your findings in light of information how much development opportunities are dependent on management. On paper, they might not be, but in reality, very much so...

I definitely left 2 jobs because of my managers. When I know more about the company policies and STATE Laws than my bosses boss- yeah... I'm leaving. When my boss tells me to my face that an employee who is stealing from the company is more valuable than me- yeah I'm leaving.

Thank you. A lot of companies don't seem to understand this: Professing to welcome diversity means you can't discriminate against certain kinds of diversity, like diversity of thought or opinion; people with diverging thoughts and opinions can feel "unsafe" too.

Yes!!! Not sure why people keep saying this like it’s true or a deep thought. I’m quitting after a decade because I’m overworked constantly distracted and have no faith in my peers that they can change or deliver.

But aren't leaders and development opportunities dictated by... managers? Sure, I might not leave the company directly because of my manager, but my manager, along with his managers, are largely responsible for my experience as an employee of the company. If I'm not making enough and I leave, then it's the management team's fault for not trying to give me other reasons to stay, such as development opportunities, etc. It all comes down to managers.

Management and leadership go hand in hand. Bad managers show no leadership and don't develop their people (often for fear that their people will overtake them). People leave them.

This seems like circular logic to me. You define management and leadership in a certain way and then try to "prove" something that is the product of that definition. Leadership is the product of managers. They are not independent variables and treating them as such is an invalid evaluation. And development opportunities are critically dependent on managers recognizing development potential in their team members.

Mmmm market conditions are the biggest factor in my experience. Also depends on who your peers are. I’m a middle manager and my peers suck which is ruining my development. I need them to actually work so we grow first

While I do support the gender expression and equality. I think recognizing 31 (Newyork did it) or 50 pronouns is just not going to scale. Where do we draw the line, when do we say this is enough pronouns? If someone does not want to be called he or she then we should just stick to their name instead of invented words.

"As the head of my company, I want everyone to know where I stand." - Do you also list that you're pro-Ukraine, pro-PETA, etc. in your signature block to let people know where you stand on those issues? How much allyship and ideological advertising DO you allow at your company? Infinite?

I think there is a typo in 6:24 y 6:25. It isn't "World", is "word". "Fulfillment es essential, but the meaning of fulfillment is not always intrinsic to the word, it's sometimes extrinsic to the word."
