Hey Nathane, started doing these and they went ok for a while, i even progressed on reps/weight, but after a while, my abs started to cramp. It happens on the opposite Ab of the leg i'm raising. Any advice?

The biggest difference between bogey golfers and very low single digit/scratch players is this: really good golfers hit their approaches consistently pin high from 150 on in. You must learn how to do this if you want to get there. I’m currently at 3, been down to 1, and play with a lot of golfers at your level. They spend all day a club short of the green, or hitting it thin over the green … you cannot score doing that, no matter how good your short game might be. Easy 2 putt pars with the occasional birdie dropping is road map to where you want to go. Good luck!

You're the only one to mention the shoulder "screw" and after trying it out today, the mobilibity gains are soon to come as I've been able to explore places in the shoulder that other modalities such as bands or staves(dislocates). I will say though that, I must take my time with this as I can feel the strain on the tendon almost immediately when torquing down, however. I think it would behoove anyone to try both.

Bahahaha! A+ on the name calling! Cretin and knob jockey had me laughing today for at least two holes on the golf course. Too bad you don't put that much effort into reading all the sides of the research, not just what's cherry picked to sell a book. By the way I'm a nutritionist, not a dietitian, but still more than capable of talking about the subject. And you?

I realize this video was a couple of years ago. I hope you've learned some stuff and "updated" your opinions on carbohydrate, insulin and what these so-called "healthy foods" have been doing to people for a long time. The fact that you ended your video by saying "don't buy this book, buy my program" really speaks volumes. I do think that folks should think critically about what Dr. Davis says (ie, I don't agree with him 100% on everything, but there is a lot of useful and truthful information contained therein), so perhaps there is a place where you and I have some common ground. I've lost 117 lbs, reversed my inflammation, fibromyalgia, sleep apnea, acid reflux, and high triglycerides, among many, many other symptoms, mostly related to insulin resistance. I did this without much in the way of measurable exercise or caloric deficit. I simply replaced my carb calories with healthy fats, and by healthy fats, I mean mostly animal fat, avocado oil, coconut oil and butter. I agree with another commenter that "c'mon man!" is not an argument. Stating over and over that these foods you like are healthy does not refute the volumes of science that not only back up what Dr. Davis says, but what Dr. Timothy Noakes, Dr. Eric Westman, Dr. Stephen Phinney, Jeff Volek, PHD, Ken Barry MD and many others are proving daily. Videos like this, and countless consultations with conventional doctors with predictable parroting of standard dietary guidelines are what makes me kind of "have it in" for most nutritionists, dietitians, and doctors. When I listened to people like that, I got sicker and sicker. When I started ignoring the standard guidelines, and actually did a lot of my own research and reading the studies, I gradually got healthy enough to go back to work and get a very strenuous job.
@NathaneJackson

Nope....still true, maybe even more so than ever. My programs are unbiased as I don't follow a specific diet or guru of the month. We are all biochemically unique. If someone wants to eat low carb because it works for them, then great we get to work with low carb diet. The only time I really put a stop to things is if they want to follow the Bulletproof diet, as adding butter to ones coffee is just batshit crazy. This is what coaching is about. But, I make sure my clients know that the science doesn't favour low carb for long term weight loss because when calories and protein are matched, people lose the same amount of weight. So, if they would rather include carbohydrates because it makes dieting easier and more sustainable, then they have that option. I prefer to use elimination diets opposed to pushing a gluten free lifestyle. I also work with my clients doctors and track their blood work. So, if my client is losing body fat but their blood work comes back with elevated inflammatory markers then I may have them do an elimination style diet to see if we can identify which foods are causing them trouble. If it happens to be grains, fodmaps, nightshades, cashews etc then we remove them.
@NathaneJackson
@NathaneJackson 6 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you are feeling better now, and maybe some of these things pertained to you. But, that doesn't mean it's the same for the masses. It would be very negligent to push this on people just because it worked for you. I'm not saying don't tell your story because there are going to be other people who are struggling - as you were - and you may be the person that introduces them to the possibility that it may be gluten causing them harm. However, if you want to push something, an elimination diet (under the guidance of a professional) would be a much better recommendation. What I am warning you and everyone else against is making false and sweeping claims. I know Dr. Davis sounds convincing but he has books to sell.

Do you know that you weren't in a caloric deficit? Did you track your calories? Here is the first of a 6 part series on insulin. This is a must read. weightology.net/insulin-an-undeserved-bad-reputation/ Here is the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition position on diets and body composition.jissn.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12970-017-0174-y Between those two links and the links attached to them this should keep you busy for a while.

I think it's very negligent to push standard guidelines on people when close to half of all adults are diabetic or pre-diabetic. It has nothing to do with "move more eat less". These people are insulin resistant, and that's why they have diabetes. Diabetes is progressive 100% of the time, regardless of whether they eat less or move more, and unless you get rid of the thing that is making them more insulin resistant, which is carbohydrate, which will, in turn, reverse diabetes in nearly 100% of studied cases, they will go on to suffer the progressive symptoms, such as retinopathy, atherosclerosis, pancreatitis, fatty liver and amputations, given enough time and carbohydrate. Carbohydrates have never been essential. Fats and proteins are. I'll agree in that I think Atkins was a bit off, and the whole "bulletproof" thing is a bit whacky, but not harmful. Folks have been done a massive disservice by fat-phobia garbage. And folks who are not insulin resistant have a lot more liberty with carbohydrate. But virtually everyone who has dealt with weight issues has insulin resistance of some degree, and they're best to deal with that and then get to a safe weight to where they feel healthy enough to exercise, if that's what they want to do then.
