I've been meaning to watch this match for a few days now. Charles's game is plagued by his movement forward and backward. He is caught out too many times, and his shots lack power. This is very noticeable on his backhand, where he is always lost in two minds-do I want to play a drive shot or a punch shot (Aruna style on the backhand)? The seeming indecision comes from his not being correctly positioned at the table so that he has to stretch. This results in lost points. Conversely, Mensah looks like an awkward player, but his forward and backward motion is decent. That is why he made fewer mistakes. Again, thanks for the videos, TJ. It's always enjoyable to watch TT at the amateur level.

Good match, music is very annoying though.
@tjtabletennisclub11 күн бұрын
Well, it's up to an individual + or -. The players have a lots of resting time during each game and just to keep something going or entertain the audience. That's why I introduce the idea. I have received a lot of positive feedback about it. I respect individual perspective in viewing things. Your feedback is more important and thank you.

@@tjtabletennisclub - The standard of the match was high for a 2* event. I'm not a fan of music edited in to this one as audience reaction would have probably proved enough. Pity the hall had fewer people there for this final than I would have expected. Well worth the watch though - thank you TJ. 🙂

Why would you film table tennis in portrait??
@tjtabletennisclubАй бұрын
Good question! I don't even filmed this particular match due to my phone memory. I did live streaming. A lot of people wanted to watch the final alone and due to too many demand and that's why, I devoted time to download the livestream and did a bit of cropping and designs. I only made an effort due to demand. Usually, I don't film in portrate. I hope my explanation is clear? Please feel free to ask me any further questions and clarifications. Thank you for watching my videos.
@GrimUpNorth_ytАй бұрын
Shame it's portrait. I found it really hard to watch.
@tjtabletennisclubАй бұрын
I only made an effort to produce it for a few people who wanted to watch only the final. Initially, I don't filmed that final due to my phone memory. A lot of people asked me to put out only final and that was the reason. Thank you for watching my videos and much appreciated.

@TripodianTTАй бұрын
Very sporting from Chris, however he was correct it was an edge ball if you watch in slow motion. Although Lorestas' argument that the ball was hit from below the table is actually a good one and often missed by players and umpires in situations where the ball goes up still being a side, in this case it was an edge because the ball was falling before it hit the table due to the arc. If the ball was rising it doesn't matter that it went up it has to be a side. That was not the case here though.
