This video is very helpful and I thank you for uploading it. Yet I am incredibly disgusted with the whole software design / ux! The big device costs 65 k €. And I have to close and reopen a window to refresh its content? WTF!?! The button to turn on the connection is designed so big that you could see it from the moon without glasses. Why can’t you just build in a refresh button? Sadly the overall quality of the software is just like that and gives beginners a very hard time. Everything is unintuitive and as cryptic as possible - on purpose (software as well as the according manuals)! Very poor performance. I admit that I have to come here because I’m forced to work with these devices. For myself I would NEVER get any MA products ever (and will surely not recommend them to anyone).

Hi there, we suppose you mean, Desklock ColorGroup' Text and not the font. When you type "DeskLock" in the right-panel, you should see the "Text". If you don't see it, try to disable the "'New object' line" at the bottom-right corner of the popup. Let us know if we misunderstood your question :)

Would it be possible to get a video just like this one but for the phaser section? Going down the line of cells and explaining what each is for and how they are used would be very helpful.

Hi jayhergen, thanks a lot for your suggestion! Perhaps something that covers the Phaser Editor window should explain all the layers of the Phaser and more.. Perhaps some examples of commonly used phasers could also make it more interesting. We will definitely consider this :) Stay tuned. 🙌

Also as a part of the working group, it would be really good if you guys voted to open it up a little more. There are a lot of visualiser developers, moving light manufacturers and others who are kind of left in the dark when it comes to taking part and cooperation, which is vital if this thing is going to succeed in the long run and help us all with our Tata share activities :)

Hey michaelhicks8603, you are right - we are in very close contact to a lot of manufacturers. It always needs a bit of time and iterations to establish a standard like this. But we believe at the end it will be helpful for everybody. We keep up with the work and we always appreciate your feedback.

phasers are time consuming, bring back the grandma2 effects!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when you have 600 cues theres no time for phasers

Maybe our local support guys can help you with some workflows....just reach out to them and we are sure to find a solution. Did you also try the new Generators already? Some of the things in there might remind you of grandMA2 Effect workflow......

The Roxx cluster B2-FC currently has 42 profiles on gdtf share. Will you be doing anything to prevent bloating or make it possible for users to see individual ratings directly in the software?

Hey Cnis0101, thanks for your request. Yes, we are currently on it to clean this up more and more together with the manufacturers. And also ratings are a bif topic in this sense. So as you mentioned one of the ideas is definitely to have more tools and indicators in the software to identify fixtures. We are working on that for one of the next versions.

Especially nice is that you can also use a video from a video pool which can be an NDI Network Video feed -> you can watch whatever you want on there in desklock mode

Hey tomcar9299 😊, there is a setting in your user profile for that. So if you go to Menu - User Configuration - Profile, you can change the Encoder UI Style to drag. Then you press into the small encoder symbol in your encoder bar, slide the finger away and you will see the slider. Hope that helps😊 .

Set "Encoder UI Style" to "Drag" in your User Profile settings. With this you drag on the encoder instead of doing a rotating motion. Holding the encoder reveals the slider.

Hey😊, thanks a lot for your question. You are right, the showfiles of big productions or shows in general are always very helpful and inspiring. But of course it is not our showfile and it is the same with intellectual property and copyright. What we will do a bit more in the future is to provide some videos where we can explain some things of these showfiles, of course always hand in hand with the programmers and designers who own their work.

It would be nice if there was a drop down in the appearance editor which can link to data in MA such as gels and other color objects. This way the rgb values of those objects can be directly linked to the appearance object like it was in ma2.

It is our idea to add this also to gMA3's Appearance Editor too! :) Perhaps in the mean time, you could already take advantage of transferring property values of one object to another? For example, if you want to set the "Image Color" of Appearance 1 to the "MA" Gel Color of "Cyan", you could use this: Set Appearance 1 Property "Color" At Gel "MA"."Cyan" ( or ) Set Appearance 1 Property "Color" At Gel 1.2

Hey Victor, the best idea would be to get in contact with Lite Tek and ask them for GDTF fixture types. Uploaded in the GDTF share, you can easily download them and use the library in the MA system.

Why that function is manual? If I update the present I want new value and attributes to be update in seq automatically. That is the main idea of preset based programming. In which case lighting designer will want miss a new updated attributes in seq?

Hey, there are some reasons. So one is for sure to avoid that several cues change without intention by the operator. So the whole functionality is something new in the MA philosophy, so people might not expect automatic changes. Also there could be reasons due to your programming structure. For example you work a lot with all presets for different purposes, but you dont necessarily use them all as references for your cues. At the end it is much about having different possibilities. We can definitely imagine an option in the future, to have this as an automatic function as well - so your wish for that makes absolute sense😊!

@MALightingInt From my programming experience, it’s more likely that when I store something new into a preset, I want it to be updated in my sequences. That’s the main idea of a preset-based show. Anyway, is it possible to request a function (button) that can activate manual/auto recast for the linked parameters? Also, I have an extra question. I’ve started using MA3 (onPC MAC) again and have already encountered a bunch of bugs. I’m definitely not happy with this, but I would still like to report them. How can I do that?

Having a hard time making this work. In my source showfile I can see my Gobo presets attaching themselves to the Fixture Profile as an FT Preset. But then when i export the Fixture Profile and try to import the FT Presets into my new target showfile, the fixture itself dissapears and becomes unselectable as soon as I toggle from "Channel Sets" to "FT Presets". Have not been able to succesfully finish the process of importing.

Hey Jonathan, thanks for your message. To have this functionality for the phaser steps, is still work in progress. The workaround is to create a sequence with changing phase values. We are working on the bounce functionality to get it implemented in one of the next versions. 😊

Your video is wrong. You create presets from the channel sets not from the FT presets :) Maybe that's why you have 100 color presets.
