Intro was excellent, first minutes were great, started to get a bit repetitive after that. Nothing on you that's the nature of a fishing vlog. Maybe include some music backtrack and condense the footage a bit more. This could've benefitted from being 5-7 minutes instead of 12. Great work!

How do I rig them?
@HookinDinksАй бұрын
For their tubes I use the micro tube jig heads and slide them over the jig head. For the stubby butts and other regular plastics I just thread them on a 1/32oz jig head like you would a standard swim bait.

Chartreuse is great for darker water. Firetiger works well also. The lake I am going to fish tomorrow is very dark, tannic, tea stained... firetiger on any lure seems to work. Chartreuse would perform equally well
@HookinDinksАй бұрын
Yeah we don’t quite have the tannic water but visibility can be low, find that’s when I need something bright

I love the Berkley underspin. That exact jig with the 3.5" ripple shad. Got muskie, pike, smallmouth and walleye with that. Gunna go casting tomorrow with that jig.
@HookinDinksАй бұрын
Yeah I caught a couple bass with it and then of course lost it. Had to grab a couple more right away just a really nice underspin.
@differentfinsАй бұрын
@HookinDinks it must be that narrow willow leaf blade, I've used other under spins that just have the blade for flash. With the Berkley jig I can feel the vibration from it spinning. I love the sturdy hooks as well.
@differentfinsАй бұрын
I love 13 Fishing rods but good call getting the different reel. I haven't liked the 13 Fishing reels. Ratchet drag, not smooth, I need to replace one on an ice fishing setup. It's the Creed and is noisy enough to bother me.
@HookinDinksАй бұрын
Yeah I keep seeing them heavily discounted and was tempted but I usually just prefer to stick with Daiwa or Shimano nowadays.
@differentfinsАй бұрын
@HookinDinks they are always discounted probably because their reputation isn't the best. Stick with your faves! For me I like Mitchell reels, always been tough, reliable and smooth. I've heard great things about Daiwa.

I swear Dollorama is bar none my fave place for fishing now! Scored a big 7 inch Storm brand jerk bait, a nice 3 inch Storm diving crankbait in chartreuse/white AND more of my favourite 5 inch baby pike soft swimbaits by Mako. (You see a blue pike near his hand at 4:05 in the video) The pre rigged Mako swimbaits are actually really good and pike around here go WILD for them! The giant Storm lure retail alone would’ve been around 20 bucks at Can Tire. I got it for 5. 🎉

I almost want to make an updated video about it because I’ve gotten even better scores this year from there. I even know someone who got a Shimano combo for $10. I managed to find a chatterbait there for $5, in a nice colour as well. A
