We need to keep the NHS going as I have this really awful feeling that we’re going to lose it because I know the government wants to get rid of it. I would hate to lose it and I would do anything to stop it happening as I have a lot of long-term illnesses, and if it wasn’t for the NHS, I would be able to afford the treatment I need.

As old as this video is I am fuming at this misleading information and one sided argument , Right as a nation we spend in real terms 10% of our GDP the terms poorly funded is an excuse for any who have policitcial agenda including this idiot. The NHS is wasting money on a daily basis on CEO over bloated salaries, not to mention the insane use of it by drunks, abusers and people who think society owes them. Or the fact that some GPs aren't delivering the services that they are contracted to deliver. NHS needs a non government oversight so that money spent goes to the right places for too long people like Owen and politicians on all sides has used the NHS as a political punching bag, it isn't them doing the job and there words are meaningless unless the staff actually have more input into how best use NHS resources and also charge people fo wasting NHS resources. Effient medical care doesn't mean good care and sometimes I wonder what makes people like this numpty and polictians qualified to make changes in how the NHS is run it should be down to what's on the ground locally also given hospitals the facilities to deliver local services without the locals having to travel 20-50 miles to see a specialist as I had too with my eyes when I had to travel 50 miles to see a specialist and wait half a day to been seen. This isn't due to lack of money this is down to pure waste by individuals with more to ay then seeing or experiencing it for them selves

So before going to the hospital he phones up NHS 111, something he urges you not to do.He makes fun of the person on the line (who is doing her job) trying to help him by gathering information as to the severity of his injury , thus possibly saving his life, possibly saving the overburdened NHS with an unnecessary hospital visit and therefore saving the NHS time and money. WHAT AN UNGRATEFUL BASTARD HE IS .AND I BET HE IS GETTING PAID FOR DOING THAT GIG, HE MAKES ME SICK !

Fotswochit - There you see , you only have his side of the story and you're believing him!! . Of course he's going to say that, so as to belittle the telephone helper .Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he got them fired. Leaving the poor person not just unemployed but with a sense of guilt that their advise was ineffective and useless. Thus leading to them possibly committing suicide. Would he feel any sense of responsibility... NO. And he thinks this is amusing ? .. Well I for one DO NOT !

Fotswochit - the so called "comedy routine" is far from amusing, and the fact he is "brown" is no excuse and no justification for causing the hypothetical potential death of a valued member of the NHS. This self indulgent, arrogant condescending attitude is typical of society nowadays.. rest assured I shall be writing to my MP about him !

To luke Hurley, you obviously do not understand politicts. Mark Steel is one of the bedt satire comedians on this planet. l travelled up to watch Mark Steel in Newcastle in 2013 then l met him after the show. He is very clever at knocking the government. Mark stands up for those who are less well off than some in society and that is what his comedy is based on. Luke you don't get Mark's wit. also Mark is best known for going on rally's and going on marches when people are striking like he speaks at the n.h.s strikes. Mark does alot of good. Luke if you don't like or understand his wit that is your choice. But do not knock this brilliant comedian who takes the time, to come out and support the n.h.s and the stupid bedroom tax. That is what mark steel does and does not get paid for this. When there was the steel works strike in thr eighties mark put some of these men up, in his own home, with the permission of his mother. You know nothing youg man. l salute you mark steel. l have followed you since the eighties all the best in your satirest comedy. look up that word luke. You may learn something.
