I work at Pier 39. There is a plaque about The Butterfly Man on a post. I read it and felt a soulful connection... Today I got asked if I was related to The Butterfly Man. I told them, yes, but only in spirit.

Interesting video, but you need to spellcheck the title. The King of Jugging? That surely means something else.

Back when humor and entertainment were awesomely simple. I remember a French silent performer similar to this, had the crowd laughing to tears.

That was a very Luke routine. He was a lovely guy, behind the slightly distant and cold facade he was hilarious to hang about with. Miss you, Luke.

Looks like this is from the second Showcase of European Jugglers. That one was organized by Tim Roberts (emcee) and me for the annual IJA festival. The other acts were as impressive.

People should really research him. This isn't just some guy, he was the first person to have a one man clown show on Broadway. He's literally a legend. So of course he's amazing.

Thank you. Remember him as one of the first and best performers in San Francisco’s Pier 39. Would take BART and enjoy the walk down the Embarcadero from the Embarcadero Plazas Vaillancourt Water Fountains to Fisherman’s Wharf. Early 1980s to the early 1990s great time to see him!
