Thank you. Great overview. The Mitchell Institute just published (26 Oct 2021) the research study paper “The Future Fighter Force our Nation Requires: Building a Bridge.” The paper recommended for the USAF to “use principles from the Lightweight fighter program of the 1960s and 1970s…to guide a new [fighter] design and production effort.” That program proved to be an effective acquisition technology.
