Thank you for expressing this. I have lymphedema and there is a lot of bad information on here. My lymphedema is obesity induced lymphedema. I was diagnosed with it around March, but was unable to get treated for it until April. However, I do believe that I have had lymphedema for at least four years.

This is such a great video! And I'm glad you outline the cons and not JUST the pros, I appreciate having a well-rounded idea of whats in store instead of just all the glitz and glamour. I'm hoping this can potentially be a path for me career-wise ^U^. To be honest the cons don't even weigh all that much to me, I think the pros of what I want are so in line that I can absolutely live with the cons lol.

Just came across your content hoping you see this. Im working on neck area drainage and could use some advice. It is difficult to eat as when I swallow my food. Ive worked on hydrating, walking and deep breathing but getting slow results. What do you suggest? Thank you so much! Keep up the great content.

I appreciate your video and the information you gave me. I've been trying to decide which school to attend and you made it make sense for me regarding the cost, availability and that they each are accredited. This is a large investment and I want to make sure I choose wisely. Thanks again for your insightfulness and perspective, it helps others make better decisions.

Hello, i have a question. I want to study massage therapy but my concern about male clients. For cultural reasons i won’t be able to give service to male clients. Do you think it affects negatively my career or employment process?

Excellent summary of being a therapist! I’ve been practicing since 2007. I worked in hospitals, oncology clinics, private practice and franchises. It is HARD work. In the end, I’m sticking with a franchise. I like that I just walk in, they have my clients lined up for the day, and I leave. No marketing. No scheduling. Plus I get to choose the hours I want to work. That is a huge bonus, for me. Thank you for doing this video!

Giiirl, I am going to college in September for Massage Therapy program. I am worried it will be physically demanding to me.😅 I am not planning to work full time or to treat more than 5 clients per day. How many clients do you usually feel comfortable massaging per day without feeling too tired? P.S: I live in Toronto, Canada.

@norviaedwards3354 its very hard starting out to make a living if your single and have no other income in your household other then your massage it takes a long time to build up enough clients to be able to make a decent living

Why? Is it due to being hard on your body? I am considering doing it, but to work for myself eventually, so I don't need to make too much money. I'm thinking I could get away with 10-20 hours a week, charging $60/hour(I'm in Canada - just started looking into this, I am not privvy to the fees yet, but I feel like that sounds fair?) Would this lessen the toll on your body?
@MrStreetninja007
@MrStreetninja007 3 ай бұрын
@@robynriggs2336 it's a hard way to make a living be that it takes a toll on your body and there will be plenty of dry spells in your booking schedule so when you first start out you better have another stable job and do massage on the side or get ready to have multiple jobs or have a partner that can support you until you get clients built up and it's not as easy as charging 60 an hour and doing 20 a week because you have supplies you have overhead and it takes a while to where you can even get 20 clients a week consistently
@MrStreetninja007

It's a hard way to make a living starting out you're going to have horribly slim weeks making no money hardly until you can build up the clientele so be prepared to work another job and do this on the side or have a partner that makes good money and also bear in mind as a massage therapist you have no benefits absolutely none at all if you want to take a vacation then you have to plan accordingly that while on vacation for however long you will make no money there's just a lot of things on the back end that most people do not think about then on top of that it's very rough and hard on your body most are burnt out by 6 years or mess their hands up@@robynriggs2336

I live in a state that doesn't require a license or certification for CT. I do not have a touch license, and do not plan on getting one. Do you feel this course alone is enough for me to be ready to start my practice? I have been looking into Upledger. They offer an anatomy and physiology certification course as a prerequisite to their CT course. Do you feel like an anatomy and physiology certification is necessary through the Moving Mountains course?

Will you be hired if you take a year to learn to be a massage therapist? I heard that you need a medical degree to be a massage therapist. Also, will this one year massage school help me to relocate to Australia, Canada, or do they require "highly qualified" professionals who are graduating with a college degree or higher?
@RebekahHBP
@RebekahHBP 8 ай бұрын
You need a certificate or an associate degree, depending on where you are. For example I am in NY and all of the programs here lead to an associate degree before licensure. Afterward you can continue to take continuing education credits to build your education as a medical massage therapist. The schools requirements will satisfy the state you're in + any school that requires less or the same amount of hours. To move to Australia you'll need to check what their massage therapy requirements are too but it'll help that you already are a MT here,

Depends on how many clients. More clients means more earned money. Being employed usually guarantees clients to work on, Most therapists can only hand a max of 25-30 hrs a week, in my area its mostly $30/massage hour. If youre solo and charging $100/60 min you'll pay yourself around $50/hr. Its much harder work than any other job ive done.

Hey, I've been going to massage therapy for some pain in my knee due to arthritis. All the gals that have worked on me have been great. But it's an hour in the room and I wonder, what do they think about during that time? I mean yeah, sure, they are thinking about what they're doing, focusing on muscle groups, where they put pressure, how much pressure, etc. But do they tend to have moments where they're thinking about their husband/boyfriend, car payments, going shopping, the weather, or are they thinking more about who they're working on, like, hey they have nice feet, or geez, their belly's huge, or wow they're hairy, etc. I mean, here I am, focused on what this person's doing, how my body feels, and I'm just curious how it is for the LMT.

What about tattoos and tattoo removal? I just read about how tattoo ink can clog your lymph nodes. In addition I was thinking of getting tattoos removed. What are your thoughts about how ita held and how well it can be filtered out and how well can it be cleared. Thank you
