Total war ai has always been iffy. I expected them to improve over the games but it has not, and thats on purpose by the devs. I dont think having the ai try to play on a restricted map was a good idea? Not really surprising when vanilla have wider surface areas which leads to less issues compared to this one

True but the ai isn’t any smarter in vanilla maps either you can easily funnel all the enemy levies/lines by burning your own gates and they’ll just walk through also I’m playing SotS cause vanilla maps are boring and repetitive

The AI in general has trouble with those maps. I like them but ultimately don't play with them because of AI issues.

Me while watching... 5min: He's made a nice semi-circle at the top of a hill, the steep slope is really taking the sting out of the enemy cav charges and things are holding well. 8min: He's still doing well, things look to be under control, but troops are getting thin. 9min: Wait, there's still a lot more enemies to go, how's he going to pull this off? 9:30: No, pull back your general!!! 9:45: Oh, he's thrown in the towel...too many units. Credit to you, not a lot of youtubers like to post their L's. I doubt I could have done any better.

You were basically so amped you kept running, charging, disengaging, then running, charging and disengaging again. At the very beginning I thought you were playing with 4x speed. You didn't shoot, you didn't deploy, you just kept clicking back and forth without any plan in mind. At some point you gave 6 conflicting orders to the same unit... lol

Personally, I would've hidden those 3 cav units somewhere far away from the rest of the army, then I would've used them to heavily charge the first enemy army from behind (while the infantries were fighting), then running away and coming back for the next army, and so on. U could have used like 2 of them to actually charge the infantry and the other one to chase after the archers. By the way it was too hard and I probably would have failed too 😂

You did extremely good with those peasant looking militia I couldn't imagine killing 100 with each of those units before fleeing and thought you would lose the center of your formation with only two of those units being outnumbered by sword men

If the enemy didn't had so many archers and crossbows it could had been possible, they wear down alot of units even if you managed to rout the melee units
