How the latency...can it be used for focus puller
@jclcreativephotovideo
@jclcreativephotovideo 3 күн бұрын
For static scenes it can, I would not use it for chasing anything in fast motion. If you're doing documentary work where timing down to the split second is not important then it could also work for the most part. You can also anticipate the lag and compensate. I do use it for focus pulling on this channel so it does work for your average needs but it does not replace a high end setup if that is what you need.

Thank you for this! I was considering purchasing the Amaran led strip but couldn't really find any information on its CCT performance. Your video is a great demonstration. RGB led strips are known to struggle with white light, but I hoped the Amaran would be better because I do like their other lights as well as the Sidus app. What a shame! I guess I'll go look for an RGBW or dual-white strip instead.

Depends how fast you need the motion to be. If you're using it to see past paced scenes it might be a problem. For the stuff I do it's been fine. The lag is what's going to cause you more problems if you need very precise feedback, say for pulling focus on the fly.

I don't have it in front of me right now but DC outputs are usually 8V or 12V compared to the 5V of USB and I don't know if the device is regulated to protect against over voltage. Good question though, I would have to ask the company about that.

how long does one battery last?

That depends on the size of the battery and how bright you make the screen. On full brightness with a typical F970 I would expect to get between one, maybe one and a half hours.

Another "problem" is for me the shape of this device. This is usb stick shape which is stand out from the camera body. Which is bad especially on gimbal. So i must use hdmi cable from the camera to the device and hang the device somewhere to the camera with tape or something. The other part is the same on the monitor side.

ASUS ZenScreen 15.6” 1080P Wireless Portable Monitor (MB16AWP). The latency is fine unless you have quick motion to follow. If you use a focus wheel with hard stops that makes it much easier if there is motion because you can just look at the scene itself and use the monitor to check framing and final focus.

Can more than 1 set of these be used at at time in a multi-camera setup?
@jclcreativephotovideo
@jclcreativephotovideo 11 ай бұрын
Yes! Here is a video where I explain how to connect them to a live stream computer if you have one on set. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3KYnJKdm8qqeZo if you don't have a computer then you can use the HDMI in and HDMI out on most monitors to daisy-chain them if you want one camera to go to multiple monitors. If you want one camera to go to one monitor, you just need a set for each camera/monitor. I suggested to Feelworld that they make the next gen able to use one TX for multiple RX units, for now they are only matched pairs but it still works if you use one of these methods. But in essence, one set = one HDMI cable replacement. If you use a bunch you may run into signal interference though.

I only have one set but my initial guess is it depends how many other 2.4/5GHz devices are also in the area. I've seen 8 wireless mics used at once and occasionally it caused issues but it worked well enough for the event. I mentioned to Feelworld that I would like to see one Tx be able to link to multiple Rxs not just for convenience but that would clean up the signal space a bit.

@@user3r093 as of now they are sold as a matched pair, hopefully in the future they will offer separate RX units that match to a TX you already own. Their monitors usually have HDMI in and HDMI out so you could get two pairs and daisy chain them to other monitors, but I think we can all see the benefit of one TX and multiple RX.

I haven't seen anything with a built in battery. This tech is really just adapted from the market of people wanting to project a laptop or TV where plugging in things is expected, it hasn't been fully adapted to our needs as camera operators. I did let FEELWORLD know about the battery suggestion, hopefully if more people ask for the same thing they will find a solution. Keep in mind that other options in this category usually plug into a dummy NPF on the monitor or have an NPF dock on those units, so really I don't think anything out there has its own power source onboard. Maybe the power requirements to stream HDMI are too high to be practical? No idea. I'd be happy with even a couple hours of battery life though, I hope that is doable. Or they could add a USB port right next to the HDMI ports and pull from the monitor.

Great vid. See you are doing more. Good. The WSP specs call for 5V/.5A power input. Do you know what the USB power output of the PowedEdge battery USB connector is? If it is greater that 5V then obviously it did not fry the WSP so - great! Thanks, Pete

Hi, the battery doesn't have specs for power out on the unit itself but standard USB maxes at 15W 5V/3A so I imagine that is what they have it set to. I've used this setup quite a bit and never had an issue with the HDMI side of the house. I did have a battery burn out plugged in and charging via USB C so now I only recharge them using an actual NPF battery charging station.

Once in a while the connection at the start will drop, you'll get a signal but then it goes blank. Seems to only be at the startup so far, once it gets going I have not had it drop out on me. I'm limited by battery time because I don't have a V-mount I can run the rig on via wall power, so I can't give a long term test result yet.

So I tried it and it did work, but my laptop doesn't have HDMI in so I used a cheap HDMI to USB video capture card in between. My guess is it should work fine straight into HDMI if your computer has it though. You just need to power the Tx/Rx devices, I used those NPF batteries with USB output that I showed in the video, but you can power them however you'd like it's just standard 5V USB power. I'll make a video soon about it so people unfamiliar with OBS can see how it works because I can see this being very convenient for people who want to do high quality Zoom calls for work, for example. I use a GH4 for my zoom calls and I get compliments all the time about how professional my video quality is.

Laptop and Computer hardware have HDMI output only. I did some research on it as a result a capture card is used. I am just looking for ways to stream wireless with my DSLR without needing to carry batteries, powerbanks and external screens on the camera. Basically am trying to be more compact as much as possible. However the power supply is necessary as it will keep the power of the transmitter running. I am glad you introduced me to freeworld electronics. I realized that my business will be able to grow more because of this brand. But it's definitely going to give me New Gear Syndrome 😂

@@tapelongwenya If you have your camera in a cage with a power supply like V-Mount or NPF then you can run power from that and you only need one separate power source for the receiver side, unless you can maybe run it from another USB port on the computer. That ties up two USB ports though, unless you use a USB hub. Not a perfect solution but it's pretty good. I did talk to Feelworld about the built-in battery idea but I can't say what they will or won't do with it.

I ended up running a USB micro from the V-mount battery plate to the Tilta follow focus knob on the top handle anyway, and I need to remove that when I gimbal the rig so I just take that cable and plug it into the wireless transmitter when I remove the HDMI cable and plug in this device. It came together nicely. FeelWorld is receptive to comments so I think they will offer a battery version, hopefully anyway.
