Three years ago, I sent my namesake a copy of my memoir about being a carer to a severely autistic teenager, 'Izzy Baia: Autism, life, and other unsolved mysteries' (Mercier Books; 1998); I sent it c/o KW's work address at Johnson& Johnson in New Jersey. I'd love to know: whether he received it or not. Otherwise, great interview!❤

Love the video ❤️❤️❤️very impressive and I really. Really really really love the recipe they are making and I perfectly clearly 100 💯 percent heard Kailee said I have my boyfriend Matthew Snellgrove and then she said I’m about to be his wife and then Chantai said Matthew is like family and Kailee took it 100 💯 percent seriously of what she said about Mathew in the beginning of the video.

Thank you for embracing the neurodiverse community! I am the mother of two young boys who are both on the spectrum and I am glad to see people such as yourselves paving a pathway for the future for individuals such as them. People such as yourselves give me hope for their futures.

Matthew you are such an inspiration. My son Colby and I loved the movie Champions. If you ever have the chance to visit R.I. We would love to have you visit the Transition program at East Providence High School. I think your wisdom would be fantastic for the students. Also if Mr. Farrelly decides to direct Champions 2 Colby would be very interested. You Rock great interview.

When my child with special needs was a baby-toddler, I worked in a hospital developmental peds office and still struggled with working full-time there, heard about co-workers talking behind my back about my "special treatment" (altered schedule and signed away my lunches to condence my day, had intermittent FMLA). Flash forward, my child is an adult (but still in high school). There was no school or bhp services all through the pandemic. Things started to get back to normal but now we haven't had services the past 6 months.

Yes, we need to have more discussions and talk about it openly, bringing it to the forefront so society understands and changes can happen. As Jess said in the video, at some point, in our life, we all will become a caregiver. (((HUGS))))

Thank you so much for sharing. I love Parenting Special Needs Magazine! I always learn a lot. I was hoping to find out if there is a way to have a sensory swing inside that does not require drilling. I love the white set he has from brainrich, the tension version is genius, however that is not in our budget. Is there any affordable ways to do that? Or something similar? Unfortunately we can not do any drilling. I appreciate everything PSNM does for the special needs community😀

Very good, thank you for this. I agree on the recess issue wholeheartedly! The practice, practice, issue is hard. Improvement won’t be made without practice, but I believe it’s usually not enough improvement for handwriting to become functional. I suppose practice as long as you don’t have to push the child too far, stop before it has a negative emotional impact. Also, I’d recommend adapted typing (a hunt and peck method) rather than touch typing.
