I've been watching a lot of these videos of people trying to figure out the election. You two, like most, don't get it. Lots of people just voted for Trump for the first time. I'm going to help you out and explain why: The Democrats didn't move left, they moved to insanity. Things like transitioning kids with experimental treatments that destroy someone's fertility and sexual function for life is insanity. Trump got the TERF vote because of the insanity of males in women's sports and spaces. Democrats abandoned liberal values like free speech and civil liberties. Trump didn't just increase the black and Latino vote, he got more working class black and Latino votes. This election was largely about class because the Democrats abandoned the working class with bad trade policies, stupid identity politics and luxury beliefs.

This guy doesn’t think that Trump won the election quite decisively? Winning the popular vote AND the electoral college is the definition of decisive victory. He’s puzzling over that fact? This guy isn’t on my short list of people to ask for an opinion.

Like Locke said long ago: “If I had read as much as they I would know no more then they.” It seems to me the good professor is looking too much into the past to support his opinions on intimating that changes in current electoral behavior will not be of any permanent change in political demographics. In this way he can justify the election of Trump was not more than the natural ebb and flow of the python eating his meal. The good professor, fails to address a key change in the behavior of a singular demographic, that is the Hispanic, Latin American, and Cuban people. I told some dear liberal friends of mine some 10 years ago when they proudly surmised the Republican Party will be forever in the minority on Capitol Hill due to all the migration from those areas of the World and the great majority of them vote democrat. I told them the liberals will rue the day they supported their immigration policy. Why. I said because they’re all coming with a Bible in their pocket. They are religious and thus are more conservative in their core beliefs. I told them once they get here and establish their lives into American life, they will be conservative, not liberal. And when “Wokism,” spread through the country, its spread accelerated by social media, the teachings of the Humanities Departments on gender identity and other DEI beliefs became the redline that immigrants for the most part cannot cross due to simple religious beliefs. This Hispanic shift in voting is not a one off. The Democratic Party currently is seen widely as a far left socialist party where its brand of socialism is not for the working class but is for the “oppressed,” class of identity hierarchy as defined by the high brows of academia. The other issue the good professor is failing to consider, is the very real tension between young males and females. It is toxics in every way. Honestly the left/ Democratic Party and the main stream media has been caught red handed over ten years of evidence of all their lies that young people and middle age people are discovering through all the past videos of them saying false things and many of them about Trump. That’s a fact. As any parents knows, when children discover that they have been lied to, they lose all their trust. This is why the movement to the right is going to be there and grow for sometime. The mid-terms will be interesting for sure.

Why aren't you asking why working class voters aren't supporting the party? I hate the arrogance of the college educated progressives(which i used to be apart but now relate with the. America first movement ) The democratic party has lost less soul during the the Clinton administration. More accurately, it sold its soul. Most of the jfk values & propositions have inverted. Like rfk Jr says- pro war, pro censorship, pro big pharma. Pro big pharma may not be bad on its own sense. Its bad, I'd argue downright evil, due to its impact on citizens health. The problem comes from greed and health agency capture. Covid was a gigantic example of this problem. Big pharma is a large donor of the party, & there ia a revolving door between agencies like the cdc, hhs, & fda. Even more blatent is how scientists in the cdc recieve royalties in perpetuity by vaccines. Thia conflict of interest makes those assigned to protecting the citizens health at odds with that a scientists economic gain. There are msny worrisome issues around vaccines and the sick care model of western medicine. Now, i cant prove which vaccines/pills have a poor cost/benefit & risk/reward - but the health outcomes of our country of the previous 6 decades are disastrous. Im not pretensious enough to offer solutions, but rfk MAHA movement gives me hope that necessary radical change may occur.

Where is the distinction between the people who really need unions and the people protected by prevailing wage laws? These can be added to the professional managerial class and form the Demo party base. I work in transit engineering and am angry that projects cannot hire locals when they use federal funds. Also, Biden sided with Norfolk Southern against its unions.

Democratic Socialist is an oxymoron. Just as liberalism always tends towards inequality since giving people choices leads to different outcomes, socialism always tends towards authoritarianism as the restriction of choice is the only way to get equality.

Where have the Democrats gone? They split into two groups. One group is standing just left of the Republicans. That's me. The other group went marching even further left. The Republicans ask "where are they going?" The first group shrugs and says, "I dunno, I guess we're classical liberals now." Then the Republican who spoke earlier gets tapped on the shoulder and the guy to the right of him says, "We found them. They went all the way around and bumped into the guys in the back. Oh and they said to tell you guys", pointing to everyone left off him, "you're alt-right now" And that's how Trump was elected in 2016.

Feminism and their progressive, intellectual, and media allies have done a god job of pushing an anti family and anti man narrative. This BS started in America and is being pushed globally through the US state department and media. Men need skills and community colleagues can do a lot. I have a PhD from an American university and it has been useful and I put it to good use. Unfortunately, much of what is done at universities today is rubbish and fills the heads of young people, especially women, dangerous ideologies that have to scientific or empirical basis.

Why? Why not blame single moms? They made their life choices. If the man left, well she's the one that chose to have children with that man. When it comes to success rates,, children raised by single fathers are around 70% more successful in life than children that are raised by single mothers.

The biggest issue of the professor's proposal is it looks more like Chinese 5 year plan than Milton Friedman, if one understand the Chinese system. In this frame of US China competition, looking socialist is not good for either party. US is making this an ideological fight. I expect DC policy wonks to lean towards established ideological credos. Also i dont think the decision makers in DC understands technology, the industries and the innovation process. Look at the small yard high fence policy. It is not working, and US finds itself inside the small yard. Sorry to say it, but I feel the only way to usher in some real change is a major recession.

I am confused by the title. If globalization is out, productivity is also out. Why make a product in country A for $20, when the same product can be make in country Z for $2 in half the time? Capital will flow one way incentively. I hear the professor is saying big government is back. I see Labor Unions coming back in a strong way. "Productivism" without taking into productivity is a marketing exercise.

The US has already lost to China. Xi has combined China's political and economic interests in the CCP's integration into Chinese corporate management. This model is vastly more efficient, responsive and superior to the non-production chaos of US politics and US corporations driven only by profit. China will dominate the coming New World Order, while the US decline will accelerate.

This guy knows no human phycology. The relative position/income is also very important to people, even though it is behinds the absolute position/income. No one is against Growth. But the purpose of Growth is most importantly for the benefit of the bottom 50%. In past several decades, US had tremendous growth at the top, especially the 0.1%, but slightly decay at the bottom 50%. This is the huge problem with a very simple solution: the top 1% should share some of their growth with bottom 50%.

The problem is that the country is too much concentration on the growth by the top 1% while ignoring the effects of this imbalance in the economy. There was a policy introduced by the Chamber of Commerce of America to limit the growth of incomes of the working class to a maximum of 3%. This has been in practice since the early 80s. This one policy has been the major inhibitor of growth in the Western economy. For the economy to be healthy, funds has to be subjected to the multiplier effect at a much higher rate than has been the case since this 3% wage limit has been imposed and religiously practiced. As a result, inflation has been growing at a much higher rate than is accounted for by the exclusion of areas that is politically expedient, to satisfy the narrative. Resulting in the hollowing out the purchasing power of income earners in their ability to afford the necessities like housing to support their minimum requirements. As a result we have the misalignment between housing cost and population income in just about the whole economy. A glut of available housing and high levels of homelessness in full-time workers.

Oh well, if the US ignores the Taiwan issue, forgets about the South China Sea controversy, and pretends that there is no collaboration between Russia and China, the chance for an accidental conflict will certainly reduce a bit. All of these former Wall Street bigwicks who made a fortune from their positions in Asia have not come to terms with the new reality. Wake up gentlemen, just looked at the treatment of former President Hu at the Party Congress, Xi wants to remake China in his own image, and he doesn't mind using ultra-nationalistic rhetoric and tactics to achieve his ambition. It doesn't matter whether you like it or not, or whether you wish that it doesn't happen, that's what Xi wants and no one dares to challenge in China anymore. So, the real question is not how to avoid sleep walk into an accidental conflict with China, the real question is how to deter Xi from pushing the world into war because of his personal ambition and delusion.
