I don’t know a lot about symphonies but I assume symphonies before this were more formulaic but this one was somehow different…? I’m not sure but I’m watching

the music is really good, but these English actors/actresses seem way too frivolous and superficial to really capture what it really must have been like to hear this first amazing performance. ....too plastic...

Leider fehlt die Besetzungsliste. Der Koch ist unverkennbar Hanns Ernst Jäger (galt damals in Deutschland quasi als bester Bühnendarsteller), Günther Strack der Feldwebel, Sigfrit Steiner der Pfaff.

In most movies I have seen of him, the actor playing Beethoven has looked almost exactly like him. I have a 40 cd box set of each of his 9 symphonies and every other music he ever composed. I got it at Barnes and Noble several years ago for $100. In 1974, at age 13, I had a big crush on him even though he has been dead for centuries. Most women he fell for were rich countesses who were probably snobs.They just liked to tease him. He has always been my fave of classical music.
